Very strange this one: first time boot works fine - configure wireless networking OK, save and exit. Next boot - no networking; reboot and it's back. This is a persistent problem. On the "off" cycle the Connect Wizard fails to find any wireless to connect to, but it comes up fine next time.

I'm on lupu 5.2.8 on an HP Pavilion DM1 Netbook. The networking wizard reports the B43 module managing WLAN0.

Any ideas anyone?

I am using the same version of Pup on a stick and puppy does not remember that I have a hidden network name. I have to manually set up the same wireless connection every time I reboot. I believe that two years ago, Puppy had no trouble logging in automagically

See if adding this update patch to Lucid Puppy 528 helps any.

You might also try Lupu Plus--which handles some driver things slightly differently than Lupu. Also you might try installing Frisbee from the Internet menu. Frisbee is an alternate connection manager.

I have experienced weirdness with an Acer and a Compac laptop wherein the WiFi button gets turned off or shout down for some reason and you just cannot turn the thing back on while running Puppy or Ubuntu. I think part of the problem is this "designed for windows" rubbish, because when I boot up windows, for some reason, I can then push the WiFi button again and then get a connection. After shutting down windows, Linux will re-establish the connection every time ... very strange
