Slacko Puppy 5.3.1 Using F12 key conflict

#1 Post by horhota »

I am using various versions of Puppy - Lucid, Slacko etc depending on which works best with a particular pc. When I use the Slacko Puppy 5.3.1 version on my laptop, I find that pressing the F12 key brings up the main menu. Unfortunately, I use the laptop mainly to communicate with the mainframe at work via Citrix and the F12 key is a major - high use key in my mainframe applications. So, I press F12 to do something in a mainframe app but it doesn't work and the Slacko main menu pops up. Is there anyway to reconfigure/turn the Slacko F12 key off or to shift it to another key?
I already tried searching the database for this a few days ago but didn't find anything.

Go to the hidden folder /root/.jwm

Open the file jwmrc-personal.

Delete Line 37: <Key key="F12".....

Restart JWM.

Thank you rcrsn51!! Your solution worked. You certainly have a lot of knowledge about Puppy Linux and, as on past occasions, I'm most grateful for your assistance.
