Select the configure package manager button.
Try changing the user interface.

What version of Puppy?
How is it installed?
Live CD, frugal or full install?
If live CD or frugal, have you made a save file and booted, using it?
Selected any language other than English?

Yeah, it looks like there's something wrong with encoding.

Have you changed a language or character encoding lately?
Take a peek at /root/.packages/user-installed-packages (first, press the eye icon in ROX-Filer to reveal hidden files/folders) - it's the list of installed packages.
Open the file in Geany and check out if it's displayed in usual way.
If everything's fine -> launch PPM, then take a look at /tmp/installedpkgs.results - contents of this file are directly displayed in PPM.

One of these two files is probably corrupted...(but why??? Shocked)

Greetings!

I just reinstalled.

I'll try the "save" slackware-path.

Trying to install the full version of Inkscape in Slacko 5.3.3.

I tried to run the Puppy Package Manager from Slickpet and get nothing. So I ran ppm from a terminal and got:

# ppm

** ERROR **: gtkdialog: Error in line 45, near token '</default>': syntax error

aborting...

I had previous run an Update Puppy Package Manager from Slickpet which was a long process that downloaded lots of repo information. Now when I run an update it downloads just one file and shows "green", that everything is updated, and to restart petget.

I'm not sure how to proceed.

With stats like "there have been 19337 users online since yesterday," you're almost assured a timely response.
