Inkscape .047 vs .045 Fill issue

Hi,

I have an .045 drawing which I opened in .048 and its giving me problems. Some fills do not render properly when I export to PNG as they did in .045.

I also tried .047 under windows vista and the exact same error appears in the PNG output.

A fill, appears as a black spot rather than a filled object with colour. The same object is used in multiple places, copied and pasted, but renders with the black spot only in some of the copied objects.

As a test I removed .047 and installed .045 in which the drawing was originally authored. The error in the PNG output disappears.

My conclusion is that .047 doesn't like the .045 file.

Hi,

So I decided to give the previous pet package of .045.1 compiled for puppy linux 4.x a whirl in 5.28. I'm happy to report it works just fine without any issues thus far. Again, the little problem I was having with the fills is "magically" gone under .045.1. When I create a PNG file I no longer get the pepper spots.

That pet is here http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pe ... cgtkmm.pet

One of the reasons I wanted to use .047 was that the snap works better when objects are cloned. In my older drawings I was copying and pasting groups of objects, and having them snap to my grid. In .045 cloned objects only seem to snap to the bounding box not the lines which compose the objects. .047 changed the snap functionality so that the lines within a cloned object can be snapped to.

I realize going back to .045 is a little bit of a step backward but I can't seem to get around the problem with the fills and I don't want to entirely redraw my old file. I'm not giving up entirely on .047, I just need to get some work done on my old file, and then take a second look at the issue.

and you post a picture of the correct and incorrect rendering in the PNG export,

or and, upload an example SVG file with the problem -

I would like to see if there is a work-a-round for .47/ .48

Inkscape is a very usefull tool for adjusting images. I was used to MTpaint, but inkscape provides new means with svg extension. this version 0.45 allows saving. What i did not know how to do with previous one, excepted by a MTpaint screen capture.
"My conclusion is that .047 doesn't like the .045 file. " ???

What is the question?

You have a file created with 0.45 that won't open in 0.47

Or is it the file does not display correctly in 0.47? :?:
