Turn a flash drive into an mp3 player
Turn a flash drive into an mp3 player
What do you think?
[I searched but all i get are ideas about making a bootable flash drive.]
If you got a pair of headphones that were usb headphones, what else? Move software from an mp3 player over to the flash drive? Or has puppy got something developed that would work?

I know for the most part the answer is a 'no.' But I just know if there is a way, a puppy person has figured it out, so I thought i'd ask.

Hello,
Here is the big hurdle...
USB drives are powered thru the Universal Serial Bus...
Mp3 players are powered by a battery, sometimes recharged thru the USB..
So even if you solve the headphone dilemma...
For what it is worth, you can boot Puppy from a mp3 player...

That is impossible.steve_s wrote:What do you think?
A flash drive is just data storage whereas mp3 player has also decoder, DAC, amplifier, some microcontroller with service program and many other stuffs.

Difficult
I think the easiest way is to find some sort of mp3 player with a usb input that way you can plug your usb in and play songs from there.
the usb headphones are good but how will the usb be powered, i guess you could have a small power supply attached to the headphones, but then its making the software on the usb.
Mp3 players are cheap these days and you can get a 8gb for less then £10 so best to stick with that imo

Flash drive + no extra parts + no efforts = MP3 Player is impossible.
Flash drive + extra parts + efforts = MP3 player is possible.
Read here for much efforts how to do it:

http://forums.techguy.org/do-yourself-p ... layer.html
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 6052652869
Buy this with no efforts at all. It needs only an adapter and a flash drive to work:
Building block MP3 player
Adapter from here:

The question is is it worth the efforts and the money to do it?
