Greyhound-lina-007

#1 Post by buckaroo50 »

Puppy Linux with XFCE desktop, a remaster of Carolina Linux which evolved from Saluki Linux. It uses the Carolina repositories and any special files will be available where Greyhound iso resides...

The ISO is about 360 meg

Some features are Ufraw w/ Gimp, LightZone. for picture editing and using RAW camera pictures Cinelerra for video editing, Rox as well as Thunar file managers,

Several tools for PET and SFS file manipulations and conversions.

Also, includes Testdisk for file recovery, partition recovery, and MBR recovery.

Auto disk/partition mount has been moved out of the Startup folder and into rc.d folder - the drives will now mount prior to the desktop loading...

The backend for Canon network printers has been added.

zz-patches-XFCE-3-26-16.pet contain the configuration files and a few minor touchups for missing icons etc.

Bleachbit and Python in one SFS so that you don't have to load both separately, is available for download.

Greyhound can be downloaded here:

buckaroo50. This looks interesting but, there is a complete lack of details! On which Puppy Linux is this based?
What programs does the new Greyhound-lina-007 contain - other than the XFCE desktop?
How large is the ISO ?
Thanks!

Cool, i got the information this morning via facebook Skamilinux.Hu .
Further details are available in the hugarian forum.

"Egy nagyon friss és küllemre is igényes kölyökkutyát szeretnék veletek megosztani, Greyhound-lina-007.
Sajnos a puplet címén kívül semmi egyéb információ nem áll rendelkezésünkre még, mivel az alkotó egyebet nem osztott meg velünk.
A puplet XFCE ablakkezelőt használ. Ennyit tudunk a cikk írásának pillanatában.
Első ránézésre nagyon tetszetős, az biztos, bár egy kisség meghízott, a cd mérete 359 MB."

As english, i translate with google traduction, or Reverso, but there is a better translation site.. I come back.
Hungarians write me in french, same way. Europe is multi languages, not easy. But Money is only one : Euro. And Puppy is our Hobby (spane, Russia, italia, hungary, Polski, sweden, Norvegian) as much as soccer (football)

l'affiche est là. Aqui esta la informaccion. Click the blue, British citizen, and other native English spoken countries.

Hi, I'm using this from USB stick where I als o have Mate-Tahr 6.0.2 and x-tahr and Precise 5.7.1.

In all the other ones I use SNS to setup the connection to my Pocket wifi and it work just fine without any errors on setup - this one here tells me that it cannot get any DHCP connection and that maybe my Wi-Fi card doesn't support WPA2. This is wrong since it does and all the other puppies work(seem to remember another puppy had same problem many years ago).

Trying to load a windows driver does not work since it say the driver is incompatible - its not!

Wi-Fi card: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 4965 AG or AGN [Kedron] Network Connection (rev 61)

Only way to connect to the internet is to setup static IP.

I have tried all the wizzards and none of them work so it must be a puppy problem and not wizzard, since they work in the above mentioned puppies.

I'm writting this from the Greyhound lina with static IP.

Please tell me how to fix this. .pet patch??

Otherwise great work:) I love the XFCE on puppy.

With kind regards

JBJ

Greyhound Puppy gets a new heart

#7 Post by buckaroo50 »

We upgraded the Kernel from 3.2.13 to 3.18.30 (everything else is the same).

Name for the new iso is Greyhound-grey-008. and can be downloaded here:

http://home.myfairpoint.net/buckaroo39/Greyhound/

So there are two versions 007 and 008 and the only difference is the Kernel.

Greyhound-lina-007 is here:

http://home.myfairpoint.net/buckaroo39/iso/

Choose which ever one fills your needs...
