This seems to be the case with Movgrab, too.

However, ol' reliable youtube-dl works great! It's a Python 2.x script - should work if you have the devx loaded.

Code: Select all

Gtk youtube viewer works again but seems not downloading
For the first aid. Load devx sfs, it has the missing perl stuff. I will inspect what perl stuff is missing with clean frugal install. It seems that every gtk-youtube-viewer update, you need to add more perl stuff into update pet.

But...devx sfs has those missing perl .pl contents...whatever they are. Perl is interesting. Hundreds of .pl scripts and folders in several separated places in /usr/lib and /usr/share. It compares to the python in its complexity. And someone might know how I like python.

Note to Pemasu:

Will you check my unrar rightclick packages?
Especially if they are password protected.
It needs a good tester.

don570. Firstly. I have almost precisely similar unrar rox right click in dpup exprimo. I installed your unrar pet and it worked also as expected. It did decompress to the extracted-rar folder the content. Rox right click framework is ok.

I didnt test the rar pet, because I dont have password protected .rar packages, but good to know that there is puppy solution for them also. I think I wont include shareware binary to the build though.
Unrar binary I had already, but your binary worked as good.

Apple Bluetooth Mouse not working in Exprimo

#1149 Post by Fabio T »

In Exprimo, my all mouses works except Apple Mouse.

To not crosspost, I've copied the link of my question:

Thnx Pemasu for your attention.

Note to Pemasu:

The reason why I decided to rewrite the pet that you supplied
to forum was a problem I noticed with filenames with whitespace.

So I looked into the code and discovered that I
could enter passwords by launching a terminal
and re-assemble multi-part archives as well.

I've made a new version ---'version b'

Movgrab has been updated to the version 1.1.12. [See here for 1.1.1.2] Youtube downloading using movgrab from commandline works again.
And also you2pup coupled with movgrab as in dpup exprimo works again.

And example usage from commandline:
movgrab -o /root/testfilename 'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzFnYcIqj6I' -f flv-h264:854x480

Useful Right-Click addition

#1154 Post by gcmartin »

Pemasu.
  • Is there any way that this can be added to your "Right-Clikc" offering?
  • is there any way this could be considered to be part of the "right-click PET" ?
I think you understand.

Thanks, in advance, for any consideration

Some considerations (we generally make SFS's for large packages):
sfs2pet works in the directory that the SFS file being converted is in, so make sure you have plenty of free room for the conversion script to use

@RSH:
I have seen it, and tried it. It made a single ~58 MB Calibre SFS of mine into a PET weighing in at ~116 MB.

smokey01 posted in fatdog about nice indexing and searching qt app called recoll. It searches really fast the keywords inside the document files. It can search any document format. You can preview and open the files from the recoll.

I compiled the needed xapian-core (it was also as older version in debian repo, but I wanted the latest version) and then I compiled the recoll.

http://www.lesbonscomptes.com/recoll/

You will need qt libs ( the basic with qtwebkit is ok) xapian-core and recoll.

:D Hello,
Pemasu:
Been running it for about a week.
Works great, gives me no problems.
Other than when I borked gtkdialog3 lol..
A kernel question?
Every 3 series kernel release except yours lock out my (rt5390) wireless card @ boot.
It must be manually turned on before the kernel loads or no joy whatsoever..
However, yours does not do it.. Yours and BK`s new Precise.
I believe your dot.config is there with the sources, but IDK if I can tell what you did different.
I would like to use it to build 3.5.5, hoping to avoid that issue.
Anyhow, great Pup, and great kernel.. As usual.. 8)

Puppyluvr. Thank you of your kind words.

Could you post the output file of this command: dmesg > dmesg.gz

I believe you use rt2800pci driver which needs some realtek firmware. And I think I have updated most of them. So your needed firmware might be also the culprit. And the dmesg should show what firmware has been used. You could try my puppy included firmware in other puppies....as test.... after the used firmware has been pinpointed. It can be also just that newer kernel has improved the behavior of the driver.

I dont think that there is anything special in my kernel which causes the better usability. But cant be sure of course.

puppyluvr mentioned gtk and I am trying to sort out a gtk error ... so I thought I'd ask here ...

I have the matching devx plus both Python2.6-pygtk.sfs and qt-4.7.1.sfs loaded.

What is missing that would cause this error, please?
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "./chirpw", line 25, in <module>
import gtk
ImportError: No module named gtk

:D Hello,
Here is your requested output, if it tell you anything, let me know..
However, I am thinking it is a kernel issue.
Once the kernel loads, the switch will not turn it on, nor will software.
But if I turn it on before the kernel loads, it works fine..
Remember, this is NOT an issue with your Puppy..
So perhaps, the output from another 3 series Puppy would help.. :D
Can I use your dot.config to build 3.5.5?

Oh, and kind words they are not, just accurate words proven over time!
Your kernels, one of which I built Lupen on, are well configured for Puppy.
Your Puplets are, well, Exprimo!!!
BTW, your ultra fast 2.6.38.2 kernel is still the fastest one Ive ever used..
Of the 26 frugal installs I have, you built more of them than anyone, except me..
Testing... You know..
