Hmmm, that is strange. Wary/Racy has a recompiled ffmpeg, but x11-grab was enabled.

Did it work with an earlier version of Wary/Racy?

Would you mind trying the older ffmpeg, get it from here:

http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/pet_packages-wary5/ffmpeg-20111002-w5c.pet

The reason that I recompiled it, is that it had network support disabled, that someone wanted for Pmusic.

Thus "bad news" when trying to translate

fixed by:
Code:

#msgid ""

Thanks for that. I have fixed it in Woof:

rootfs-skeleton/usr/share/doc/nls/alsaconf/alsaconf.pot

I will upload Woof soon.

These test have been made from virtual console.
Launched from menu and alsawizard GUI
we need to change last line of /usr/sbin/alsawizard from
Code:
rxvt -geometry 60x3 -bg orange -e /usr/sbin/alsaconf

to
Code:
#rxvt -geometry 60x3 -bg orange -e /usr/sbin/alsaconf
urxvt -bg orange -e /usr/sbin/alsaconf

This has been fixed in Woof, except that I had neglected to put in the "LANG=$MYLANG" prefix for translating "Yes" and "No".

Alsaconf uses Xdialog. I have left in "export LANG=C" for speed reason only. Last line of alsawizard does not need to be changed.

My work around was to create a boot floppy in Lucid 5.2.8 using the same floppy that failed in Racy.

I'm sure this is only of minority interest but I said I'd report it anyway.

Thanks for the report. grub4dos is shinobar's baby. Would you mind reporting the problem to him (Forum member 'shinobar'):

Noticed that this new version has slipped back to default of Seamonkey 2.5 from previous Racy version where it was 2.6 and was just wondering what the reason or advantage is? 2.5 seems to work well although the buzz seems to be towards 2.7 ??

>>>---Indian------>

Er, no, it is SM 2.6.1.

That is strange. This is the relevant code:

Can you do this in a terminal:

# ping -c 1 www.google.com
# echo $?

In terminal.....

Code:
# ping -c 1 www.google.com
ping: bad address 'www.google.com'
# echo $?

May be related or not, in pemasu's latest Exprimo release I've been experiencing wget problems.
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=613599#613599

EDIT:

Just tried to use wget to download Flash (as attempted in the linked Exprimo thread) and it fails in Wary as well.

Code:
# wget http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.63/install_flash_player_11_linux.i386.tar.gz
--2012-03-23 21:25:35--  http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/pdc/11.1.102.63/install_flash_player_11_linux.i386.tar.gz
Resolving fpdownload.macromedia.com (fpdownload.macromedia.com)... failed: Temporary failure in name resolution.
wget: unable to resolve host address `fpdownload.macromedia.com'

Are you connected to the Internet through a proxy server?

I am confused. In your previous post you stated that the change to nsswitch.conf did not work. So, what other change did work?

Is there something wrong?
Thanks for a hint.

Yes, there is something wrong, I have been trying to reproduce this in a similiar way.

racy 5.2.90 pfix=ram
chosen LANG: de_DE (without utf8)
saved to a new save file called racysave-de_DE.2fs

then reboot
and chosen racysave-de_DE.2fs

# cat /proc/cmdline
video=640x480 root=/dev/sda3 ro vga=normal pdev1=sda3
#
# echo $LANG
de_DE.UTF-8
#

repeated chooselocale (de_DE) several times

My observation:
change to non-UTF-8 does not get permanent

I don´t think this is specific to German.
Other languages, please test: changing to/from utf-8

Hope this will help locating the bug

The InkspaceLite ruler at top looks messed up as soon as you move the mouse cursor from left to right/right to left side of he sheet. The ruler gets filled up with arrow signs. The arrow signs get cleared from the ruler as soon as you scroll up or down. (See picture)

InkspaceLite offers two print buttons. As soon as you try the 'Print...' button you will crash InkspaceLite. If you use the 'Print Direct...' button everything works fine - as well as CUPS-PDF printing. (See picture)

I put some graphic together Laughing and looked at xerrs.log afterwards.
Don't like those error messages. (See pictures)

Yeah, Inkscapelite can be compiled with or without support for gnome-print. Gnome-print is an older system of printing, but it is now broken.

So, I have changed Wary/Racy to using Inkscapelite compiled without gnome-print. So the menu will have the "Print direct" only.

What is "Puppy-Setup"?

It is easy to set UTF-8. Just rerun QuickSetup. Various ways to do this, for example, it is in the Setup menu.

That's alright. The script then uses 'lspci', which does the job.

Although xclipboard is working fine for me in Racy, I got the new XClipboard and it seems to make no difference.

Anyway, I have updated /etc/X11/app-defaults/XClipboard in the Wary/Racy PETs, also in the 'xorg_base' template in Woof, for the sake of other builds (Slacko, Precise ...).
