I have started a to-do list for things that have to be done next:
http://bkhome.org/blog/?viewDetailed=02706
Anyone who wants to play with these new pups, you are welcome!
Want to be a translator? We have a Russian "langpack" created by rodin.s, but want more. I think that there might be de and fr langpacks on the way, but of course we need more.
Read my blog posts to find out what has been going on in this department -- MoManager, a brand new one-stop-shop for creating a langpack PET.
Note, the desktop 'install' icon has a choice to install SFS files, and I have added 'poedit' -- if you install this, MoManager will recognise it and optionally use it -- in case you don't want to use Geany text editor to edit po translation files.
Any feedback welcome in this Forum thread...

Racy 5.2.2.7 Subject description: boot parameter plang |
|
1st boot using plang=de_DE or de_LU or de_BE
quicksetup has german language.
But only if plang is a valid locale.
(I have been trying plang=de without success)
valid locales for de:
Code: | cd /usr/share/i18n/locales ; ls de* ; cd - 1>/dev/null |
----
Barry, since you have implemented this using LANG
setting of LANGUAGE is required no more.
edited:
Harmful because you cannot test scripts in another LANGUAGE, ex: LANGUAGE=ru quicksetup

Upgrade to 5.2.2.7 |
|
Upgrade from 5.2.2 to 5.2.2.7
All has gone well... Everything appears to be working as before.
Now to see what the upgrade improved for gold prospecting season approaching fast (mostly what I use Racy for)?

Gathering existing Spanish translations. I'll add new and revised ones as well.
By the way, has Wary MoManager too?

Yes, plang must be a full locale, ex: de_DE.UTF-8
I have modified 'init' script to reject an incomplete plang.
I have taken out setting of LANGUAGE, again that was done in init script.

MoManager is in Woof, so is in both Wary and Racy.

5.2.2 & 5.2.2.7 Subject description: No Wireless Connection |
|
5.2.2.7
eth0 fine... Still... No Wireless Hookup.
rt2800 is said to be there and in fact Barry's Simple Netwoork Setup says wlan0 is an active interface but for some reason it never activates my linksys stick (blue light doen NOT come on, on the stick) nor will it allow me to configure wlan0.
Installed Frisbee... it does NOT recognize wlan0 as even being there to configure so, I get nowhere with Frisbee!
pemasu tried helping with this same problem in another thread with previous 5.2.2 but I ended up nowhere there, even with his help.
To me... it appears rt2800 configuration is NOT getting to my linksys stick!
Ran 'wicd Network Manager' in a distro called 'Porteus' , linksys stick blue light comes on at bootup, it tells me to configure SID and Password and bingo... on internet with wireless... so, it isn't my system causing the problem.
For referance: This same problem (No Wireless) persists in ALL other newer Puppy versions and I test a lot of them.
