Lucid puppy "lupu" Subject description: Trying out Ubuntu-compatible Puppy |

Anybody have any experience getting apt or dpkg working on Lucid Puppy?
How would I get the apt or aptitude (ncurses) package mgmt installed so I can work with the Ubuntu repo's?
Thanks!

P.S.
If anybody wants to work with me on an FAQ on getting a TAP VLAN working w/ QEMU in Windows & OpenVPN Tap driver, I'd be happy to pass my notes along. It's pretty nifty, and fairly straightforward.
P.P.S.
I'm bothering with doing this b/c I'd like to use Ubuntu-flavored bundles (portable Linux apps) or do full installs. I'm doing this for server-side work in the background at very low CPU utilization & want the smallest distro available (Ubuntu & SuSE are cool, but are *huge* by comparison w/ an init() that takes forever...), and LuPu looks like just the thing.
P.P.P.S.
I can do this using the 0.9 "QEMU Brake" patch). Can't get this to happen with VMWare or VirtualBox & regular QEMU 0.11+ also wants to hog the CPU.

Pussy uses apt get and was a dpup (Puppy + debian)
May have gone beyond this - you will have to check
and oh . . .
Welcome to the kennels

I don't use ubuntu so please excuse if I say something ignorant
.but if you go to the puppy package manager --> configure --> chose all of the ubuntu repositories --> update --> restart package manager
I think this does the job you are asking for.
also, just go to http://packages.ubuntu.com/
find what you want. click and select "open with package manager"
not command line, but I think this does the job?
