How to start Skype and Linphone in Puppy 528. Webcam problems. Use these shortcuts:


If you have problems to start the webcam of Skype or the Linphone in Puppy 528.

First of all, we have to make sure that we have installed all dependencies and drivers to launch these programs. Test your webcam with Guvcviewer and see if that works.
Then, use the Terminal to launch these programs and type (copy the following text and paste on the Terminal):
For skype type/paste:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l2convert.so skype

If the webcam does not work yet, type:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype

For Linphone type/paste:

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so linphone-3
