This is utilising Relinux, a rework/fork of recently discontinued remastersys

The image created with Relinux can under no circumstances be greater than 4 GB, which is why you will need to exclude the home folder as well as possible other folders too big to include. Furthermore, at the time of this article's writing Relinux is only compatible with GRUB2, needs an X11 display and installs metacity.

A couple of points worth mentioning.

Remastersys is not discontinued.
The developer had a temporary burnout.
And Ubuntu hasn't been a supporter of it.

I don't know what the size limit is for Remastersys, but the 4GB limit for Relinux is not an issue, in most cases.
That's a DVD full.

You could use Remastersys, without any problem, I think,
but you wouldn't be able to handle Relinux.

Another approach? is to build Ubuntu from scratch using scripts?

I read bout it on Ubuntu forum? or maybe somewhere else
and I made a bookmark but don't remember how to find
it again. Sorry.

Such an approach using scripts reminds me a bit of Woof
for Puppy? that is a script too? So maybe it is not that
difficult?

Relinux is very messy at the moment.

To remaster with remastersys is as 'difficult' as this..

What I am talking about when I mention using remastersys on Bodhi, is remastering a very efficient and fast OS.

I would never consider using again, let alone remastering, the dumbed-down, lumbering dinosaur that is Ubuntu.

Yes, Bodhi is based on Ubuntu, but it is Ubuntu done properly!

I guess it show how little I know?
My naive thought was that by doing that
one would get a Bodhi but with everything
built in from scratch instead of a Bodhi that
needs to be changed before it has what one need!

And using my booting method that is of no use.
A standard Bodhi needs grub2 or that you do full install
on usb flash or usb external or that you scrap a new
computer or that you reuse an old noisy one.

If one could build an ubuntu from scratch then one could
include Swedish keyboard without having Swedish locale
and one could decide on which programs to include and
going root and all such that makes one abandon ubuntu.

okay you most likely do full install or use usb?
I need to keep Microsoft Windows for my smartphones
or else I can not upgrade the Android. Ironic indeed.

The alternative would be to ask former workmates to
borrow their computer when one need to upgrade.
or to buy two computers. one for upgrading and one for
Linux. Resizing of harddisk destroy the recovery partition.

Sure one can have two hardisks in a Desktop but these
are two noisy for to be used. I have several of them 4 or 5
but I would only use them if somebody payed me to do it.
