A SOLUTION TO "pup-431.sfs not found" Subject description: A way around a cd puppy that will not load from CD-Rom
For once I come with a solution to a problem and not a mystery. If you find that your pup-431 does not load as a live CD with the above error message. You will find many suggestions of the source of this error, BIOS or Kernel etc. Changing the boot line options such as pfix=ram or apic options. I searched google for days an tried all combos until my keys hurt my fingers.
there was one option that looked good to me more info: puppy loglevel=7. I found that my puppy was looking for pup-431.sfs on my only linux partition sda5. I copied the file from the cd to my home directory and tried to load the live CD. Same error. I moved the file in terminal to the / level and it is working fine. I am writing you on the live CD with its wifi up and running. The Good Thing About P uppy and Linux is that they tell what they are trying to do and you can help.
