Kodak Zx1 or ZE1 - confirmed to work in Puppy 4.3.1?

I want to buy a videocamera compatible with Puppy Linux 4.3.1., something simple, mostly to do some editing with Kdenlive and then put the videos in YouTube.

In a shop near my home I have been offered the Kodak Zx1 http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/e ... .145117100 (its major drawback seems to be that it doesn't have zoom), and the Kodak Playful ZE1 http://store.kodak.com/store/ekconsus/e ... .221644600. Anyone can confirm me that any of them work for 4.3.1. or other Puppy version?

As it is a world in which I'm a complete nooby, and manufacturers never even mention the word Linux in one sense or the other, I'd like to know if videocams usually present many issues in our distro or not. My experience with other hardware, which I also had to take a chance with, has been wonderful so far: everything perfectly detected, and up and running excellently. For instance, I have a photo camera, and it acts in all as an external HD; you plug the USB cable, it automounts, you open the folder and get your stuff without the need of any intermediate software. I wonder if videocams are bound to work that well.

...as a bonus, I'd also like your comments about YouTube conversion. Is there any camera that allows recording in a format right away suitable for YouTube delivery? Is that possible? It would save for me what I presume a lot of hours of conversion process.

Thank you
