Here's SimpleBurn, a great replacement for Pburn, with three major advantages:
- It is smaller than Pburn, about half the size.
- It's a compiled application, not a script. This makes it way faster.
- It includes ripping functionality similar to that of Asunder.
The package was built on Slacko 5.3.1, but not tested, since I don't have an optical drive. It should utilize cdrkit (various command-line tools) for burning, pretty much like Pburn, so it should work right away.
Have fun!

Hi,
Having trouble with my cd burner.
However, i've noticed a couple of things using puppy 5.28
1) Menu option doesn't work,
simpleburn is stored in opt/bin and requires the command
/opt/bin/simpleburn
not just simple burn.
2) A minor bug in the 'about box'- if closing with 'close button' box can be re-opened, however if the 'about box' is closed with the window close tool the 'about box' will not re-open.
3) I don't think simpleburn recognises my drive properly as it says 'no disc' when I try to burn
BTW what does NLS stand for?

Same problem as Flash here, but in Slacko 5.3. Shows up in the menu, but doesn't start up.
It can be started from /opt/bin/simpleburn, but then it doesn't 'see' the usb-dvd-writer.
I tried the slackware version from the SimpleBurn website. It is also unable to detect the dvd-writer.
Perfect reason to finally upgrade to 5.3.1 later today

I compiled this in Fatdog64-521 and will post a package here as well. You can use Iguleder's NLS pet if you need that installed. Nice work finding this Iguldeder! It's always nice finding small gtk apps. I also uploaded another dotpet incase you want to use libburnia instead of cdrtools as the backend. You'll need cdrskin/xorriso/cdrdao installed if you want to use libburnia.
