Running as root

#1 Post by homeblend »

So this is something that keeps coming up in my tech circles.

I LOVE not having to type a password every ten minutes, but why is it ok in puppy to NOT use a root password, but a security risk in something such as Ubuntu or Centos?

Can someone explain this to me again?

Ah, jeez, this must be about the fifth thread someone has started on this subject. Would you pleas find and read at least one of the others before you start a new one?

Edit: Homeblend found a good thread from 2005.
