Sub_title: small/old box puppy as pvr usable by non tech's

I am very much a fan of Puppy and its low resource build and have been trying to set one up for PVR use.

Before I start to try and build it myself and waste countless hours (I am not up to speed with adding non puppy apps to a build) does anyone know of a puppy version with an app like ME-TV and also as I am in the UK possibly BBC iplayer and ITV iplayer components e.g. get_iplayer.

I have an alfatek usb DVB-T stick that I can get to work on Lucid 5.2.8 in Xine,Gzine, vlc, gnome mplayer. It also comes with a remote control incorporated which which I have no idea on where to start as far as intergrating it into the system.

I would like it to be a system that my wife who has no interest in tech issues would be able to use, ME-TV seems to fit the bill but so far I have had no luck with trying to install it.

any pointers where to start would be much appreciated.

Cheers Phild

I think to remember that goingnuts has a full featured on his site.

Look in his thread in this section for his site address.

There are a few DVB threads but I don't remember if
that found good solutions.

I-player I think we have a thread about too.
use the link in my signature and do two different searches
one with dvb in it and the other with i-player

Did we not have a thread about ABC I-view or similar name.
That does not solve the problem with drivers for the DVB but
give you perspective on BBC I-player maybe.

Such feedback is always welcome. It can help others
in same situation.

I have something named WinTV-HVR 900
Hybrid TV stick made by german firm Hauppauge
It is a USB device andin the other end it has a Cable TV
jack? socket so one take the output from the Cable TV
and then use Windows software to get it going.

I hate to use Ms Win so I would prefer I could use
Puppy instead. So I have same need??? as you have
but maybe your version also take the Digital versions
and mine maybe only the analog TV PAL? for Europe?

I know too little and are too lazy to find out.
So I hope you succeed there and get back and
tell us what did work and what failed and how one set it up.
