ok, how do i access my freenas box from puppy??

#1 Post by jason.b.c »

i have a freenas box setup on my lan , it's address is (i think lol) http://192.168.2.4 (and this box isn't on the internet so i'm not worried that someone will try to access it)

according to freenas , the lan ip is 192.168.2.3 and the web gui is http://192.168.2.4:80

so what do i need to access (send files to / read files on / get files from) the freenas box when using puppy???

also , any ubuntu/mint/debian advice will be greatly helpfull....

thank you...

That's the easy way to share files....

If you're trying to access your NAS box, puppy should have all you need built in. Have you tried using pnethood under the network menu? It searches your network for samba shares, and lets you mount and explore them.

There are also other network share tools like lamesmbexplorer and yassm, both should get your NAS visible also.

OR,

if you are wanting to share stuff off this one box set up as a dedicated file server, this is the best and easiest software IN THE WORLD (imo). It would be used instead of freeNAS
