Saluki
To unload, run sfs-load, select an sfs and click Unload as shown in the screenshot above.
It's not possible to show the free space for unmounted drives - you have to mount them to find out that information. You can however, easily run partview by right-clicking the freespace applet.
All mounted drives are easily available in Thunar as shown below.

Re: Delta File
you've all collectively been deemed too naughty for your own good so what was once soon has become 'not at present'. As you were. Boredom has arrived. Other avenues are calling.aarf wrote:

Hi jemimah,
It's looking good, not to many dramas so far, I got the same message as Lobster setting up on first boot, had no trouble with the res,
but xorgwizard needs to be run before using Grandr res changer else it makes a mess of the screen, it did so in my case,
If you rightclick the desktop and go to Applications, System, it appears woofy needs a smaller bone.
I've had no problem with pmount, I actually prefer the boot drive not showing, it's obvious that it's mounted and to access it one only needs to select Home in Thunar.
I don't know what the concern is with windows terminology
I've been running Firefox 9.0.1 with no ill effects, flash works ok with it too.
The mounter icon, yes it's small and grey and hard to see on a grey panel, but I can live with that some can't, I did try changing it but every icon remains at that size, I think that's the way it is, maybe a different color would help
Edit: I see that the usb petget problem seems to be solved, I didn't have to install the patched one.

These are generic terms, there is no "My Documents" it's "my-documents", it's like the word wheelbarrow, it's public domain, nobody can lay claim to it.minesadorada wrote:One issue: by using familiar Windows terms such as 'Control Panel', 'My Documents' etc, do you think there could be any potential copyright issues with MS should they choose to care? In these SOPA days you never know...

Re: Right click behaviour
Hi jemimahjemimah wrote:If anyone knows of an icon that looks distinctively like a hard drive, even at a small size on a grey panel - please send it my way.
What size image is required?
The 48x48 drive icon from Smooth-Color set seems to reduce to 24x24 reasonably...
Cheers

SVG is prefered. I found this one but yours might be better.peebee wrote:Hi jemimahjemimah wrote:If anyone knows of an icon that looks distinctively like a hard drive, even at a small size on a grey panel - please send it my way.

yes that is very likely. But only saluki complains. I am plagued with poor connections and fractured cables on nearly every electronic thing i own. I fix them and in a month or two the problem will happen again somewhere else. No one else seems to complain of this connection affliction. Must be something in the air.jemimah wrote:That means your power cable is not making a good connection.aarf wrote:power cable plugged in, continual notifications about power occur until acpid is not enabled in laptoptool. same as in previous salukis.

Cables have to be replaced as copper undergoes fracture due to work-hardening. [It helps to use stranded cable where appropriate, and/or stop kicking them!.]I am plagued with poor connections and fractured cables
With Molex and similar, it helps to squeeze the receptacle part ( do we have to do this gender sexual thing here?!) together every so often if you constantly pull them out/push them in (glad we didn't go down the M/F route?!).
maybe so but in 6 it was simply very annoying but with default settings in 7 it is unusable. there are many places to look for possible fixes and before you start looking one doesnt know a fix is possible. Perhaps better notification somehow.jemimah wrote:I personally consider that to be a feature - not a bug.aarf wrote:yes that is very likely. But only saluki complains.
thing is technicians will refuse to fix the molded cable inputs and so you have to replace the whole appliance. Plug in cables both ends in the original design would solve the cable fracture problem so ask yourself why the manufactures aren't solving a known problem. Its a conspiracy.Sage wrote:Cables have to be replaced as copper undergoes fracture due to work-hardening. /usr/bin/flock is part of some other package, can't remember what... its a little CLI thing for something, with the same name as the browser... I removed it from my puppy, as I did not need it, and I also did not like the spurious 'flock' option in Defaults Chooser...jemimah wrote:Yeah I've been meaning to have a look at that.peebee wrote:Hi jemimah

You could alternatively remove flock from the browser options, I bet no one will ever use it, and it may be unmaintained - just an old Firefox with some social networking bells and whistles...
.........
Jemimah, I have i18n'd and improved (since they went into Woof):
- Defaults Chooser,
- Flash-Get (includes fake flash upgrades, flash 7,9,10,11... orig by techno)
- Pup-Advert-Blocker
If you want them let me know..

...you some kinda neo-Yankie?!technicians will refuse to fix
YOU are the technician. Make your own - always more satisfactory. Although you can often repair moulded-on connectors by slicing them lengthwise with a Stanley, re-soldering, then silicone-rubber seal + wrap with self-amalgamating tape. Only when you take the time to DIY can you be sure of either peace of mind or knowing exactly who to blame!
Landfill fuels the poisoned land for your grand-children.
i figure legislation would be easier. No appliances without removable plugin cables. Simple. problem fixed. Then they'd refuse to stock the cables. Maybe it is a built in safety fuse. The cables go before the innards burn up and take out your house as well?.Sage wrote:...you some kinda neo-Yankie?!technicians will refuse to fix
