[SOLVED] World Map for Lucid Puppy.

#1 Post by SFR »

Is there any kind of off-line world map / virtual globe similar to Marble, available as .pet (or .deb) for Lucid Puppy 528?

Greetings!

Try xplanet. There's a version that works for Exprimo,
which is a Debian version of Puppy.

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... af2#574014

If it doesn't work in Lucid Puppy then try the following in the terminal

Code: Select all

xplanet -radius 90 -num_times 1 -latitude 51 -longitude 1 -projection rectangular -quality 100 -geometry 1400x900
and see if there is any info about missing dependencies.

... or go to bin directory and type 'ldd xplanet' in the terminal
to find the missing dependencies.

Hi don570

Thanx for reply.
There's only one warning(?):
/usr/lib/libjpeg.so.62: no version information available (required by xplanet)
but it works anyway :)
Rendering directly to background works aswell (after disabling pinboard).

Great app, thanx again.

Greetings!
