mini-pci W89c33D WiFi connection impossible Subject description: problems with WPA
Hello, I purchased a very low cost (used) mini-pci board on ebay that fits in my Alix-1D mini-ITX low power motherboard.
I wasn't able to find a working driver for Puppy Linux 4.2 (kernel 2.6.25.16 i586), then I tried with ndiswrapper grabbing win2K/XP drivers; the device worked partially: I could see the WiFi networks around me, but couldn't access with WPA. I tried to manual add the line "ndiswrapper:wext" to the /etc/network-wizard/wpa_modules, but it didn't worked. Just as test, I switched to Win2K using another Hard Disk with the OS installed and the WiFi connection could be estabilished, with WPA-PSK. So, the card hardware is working and the problem is in wpa-supplicant under Puppy 4.2 : I've seen the user Tempestuos having huge knowledge on this field, may be has the right trick for me ? But, obviously, this help request is for ALL the forum's users
edited: the on-board IC is Winbond W89C33D, as mentioned in title
