No sound from mobo with onboard integrated sound in Lupu 525

Sounds like a silly question, but I'm using lupu 525 on my new PC with the audio integrated into the motherboard (Asus P8P67-M), so I don't have a physical sound card in my PCI slot. Well I'm not getting any audio, and I'm no Linux veteran, I was wondering if there are ways around this?

... or use ALSA Sound Wizard (menu->Setup).

Does the wizard (or alsaconf) detect your audio? Can you hear the example?

Right click on the audio icon in the lower right corner, than Full Window. Maybe you can get sound here?

It's hard to guess what you have done or not, to get sound. If no success, more infos are always helpful.

I've tried the wizard, but no success. It reported no PnP or PCI cards found, and when I proceeded to probe for legacy ISA cards it also returned with no success. :(

no sound too...

I just ran alsaconf in Slacko 5.3 and didn't get any of your error messages. Perhaps your install is corrupted.

i think the sound failure was caused by this pet-zzlupu from slack repo...

i have to use the upgrade option to get back the missing 'software'..now i can see the sound icon...
