#1 Post by sheepy »

Can someone PLEASE revive the following thread and get Decibel to work on Puppy? I hunted down all the dependencies and it still doesn't work. :\

Just my wild guess. Pets are kernel dependent so him maybe did that pet for a particular puppy that existed 2009?
You could try to find out what puppy it was for and first try it on that one?
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

He gave some dependencies, but the links are so old that they don't work anymore.

So I got all the dependencies from the ubuntu repos, and it still wouldn't work properly :\

I like this music player too, very small (good!), runs well and light in my experience. The only thing it doesn't have, is support for m3u and .pls, so no streaming radio... :( , if not for that, it would be the perfect music player to me, very simple, stable, quick to start, plays CD's, not a lot of bells and whistles that I don't use or need. :D

Try with a new Puppy (Fluxbox is not new, never used, being tested this week) Decibel is still an appreciated juke-box, on nowadays fora.
Was working beside exaile :!: Some lib missing, which one ?
Ubuntu's passengers wrote on their forum ( :!: ) why they appreciate Decibel
"Finally, a no-fuss audio player without all the bloat of applications like Amarok. It just works, loads almost instantly, remembers my playlist, has a user-friendly UI, and leaves a small footprint on my system's memory! If you liked programs like SnackAmp on Windows, you'll love Decibel!"
