How to disable touchpad? (Solved)

#1 Post by Tintin13 »

Hi everyone. I'm new to linux and have settled on puppy, after trying lots of other linux distros.

Only issue i have at the moment is, when typing my cursor tends to jumps around because i come close to or touch the touchpad. Is there any way to disable the touchpad ? I've done a search but can't find a solution for this problem.

This just took me the better part of 2 minutes to type this, really annoying.

Welcome Tintin13. Either find flsynclient under desktop settings or execute from a shell- you'll find the option there.

Hi
A lot of the computers have a function key with a hand with a finger on it. If you hold down the Fn key and then push the function key with the hand on it, it will disable the touch pad.

And if your box doesn't, this page and this example may help you map a function key combo.
