How to do portable playlists on pendrive?

#1 Post by Baldlygo »

I would like to store mp3 music files on an 8G pendrive and then create playlists which could be run on different systems and PCs. The music and playlists both contained on the pendrive.

Can anyone recommend an app which will generate such a playlist to play the mp3s with local directories? (not the full path which would change on different systems)

Pmusic has an option to skip paths in playlists when saving.
I never use paths in playlists for compatibility reasons.

Portable Playlists on Pendrive

Yes thanks Sigmund. I'm very new to this music sorting and I've been experimenting. I find that if I use the no Path option then I also loose the directory names on my playlist.

So i think the solution is to create the playlists with the path in m3u format and then edit the file and remove the device part of the path. Then copy the edited file to the top directory of the pendrive. Then will work on any machine.
