Don't feel bad about stopping work on these projects - what you did was fabulous - I have used nothing else besides puppeee and fluppy on my netbooks and they're still the best.

Move on, have fun, work on them, don't work on them, whatever you feel like.

Don't be a stranger to the forum, you're always an honored part of the puppy family.

Totally true! I'm glad to hear of you Jemimah (still not able to spell it correctly)

I thought we were nnot going to have news about you and you'll just disappear. That's good to know you got an other job.

If you're ever feeling to have charges that you don't want to have... just say it. And more importantly, take time for yourself

I would say that without puppeee, my eeepc would be dead.

Do you think we could reactivate puppeee website. I would like to see this project still alive. I know that raff was owner of the domain. What do you guys think?

Edit: Porting puppy to arm would be fantastic! I have the eeenote tablet and the firmware isn't so great.

Thanks for all your did for us. Fluppy is an amazing piece of work. I really enjoy using it...on desktops, notebooks, netbooks and various systems at school and customer sites.

At one time I had 4 or more Puppies on a bootable USB...now, it's only one...Fluppy. I also suggest on the #puppylinux IRC channel that folks try it...quite a few have.

If you still have material available, I'd be happy to host it in conjunction with the forum at http://puppylinux.us/wayback/

Jemimah as I remember some people lack the documentation
you had on that server. Did you save some kind of backup taht you can

Am I glad to hear you were not snagged by a gator in your swamp.
Since I started this thread I have tried a few other puppies but always come back to the one I love! I think had it not been for Puppeee I would have trashed my 701 a couple of years ago so it is nice to echo what was said in the last few posts.
I wish you all the best – and don’t get lost.
I do have one regret and kick myself for it – and that is that I didn’t copy the whole content of your blog to my computer!

You did good Jemimah. Pemasu was heavily influenced by your efforts and he produces some of the best implementations of our raw boned Puppys.

A lot of us are getting new hardware.
Starting with Pi

and large screen phone (further future)

Even now the big manufacturers are wondering if they
need to set 'open tablet' not marketed by Google corp
or just amazon kindling . . .

Not to derail the thread (seriously!) but I have a Dell CPi that boots --from CD-- in somewhere around 01:30 (MM:SS) -- tolerances on that are roughly +0sec / -15sec.

The only tablet in my house is a Velocity Micro Cruz eReader. It is slow, difficult to use, and heavily locked down in terms of software. The screen sensitivity is roughly comparable to the gas pedal sensitivity on my mother's mid-90's Ford Ranger (we still joke about how she practically had to unbuckle and STAND on the pedal to get the thing to respond!). It does have WiFi and a browser, but if I said I was impressed with it... I'm lying so hard that my pants ignited. It's cr*p, and I won't use it.

The sad part is that the specs on that particular tablet probably outshine the CPi -- it's really just a matter of what you do with them

You've build quite an impression with puppeee. There is still nothing that compares, and there may never be. You're like a Steve Jobs for the eee-books. And be assured: you are loved by many that use eee pc's.

Ha, I was wrong. The memory spec (256mb) alone puts the CPi right out -- its max memory capacity is 256mb!

Also, Borders went "exit stage left" something like a year ago. They no longer exist at all... good thing Mom put a Kindle app on there.

...and Cruz Market? Really guys? (Would the REAL Android Market please stand up?) Seriously, I don't think Cruz Market has more than maybe fifty apps. It certainly isn't worth even going to.

wow jemimah with all the effort and advances you made for puppeee its a real shame you just tossed the towel in like that, I really respected the effort and work you put into it, I don't own a eeepc but I did read about it on your threads. Well I just hope you might find another project soon to work on. Looking forward to your next efforts.

Haha, if you give an over-achieving INTJ an impossible task that can never be finished, something's gotta give at some point or the universe implodes.

My current obsession is shopping, since I lost 30 pounds (courtesy of my post-puppeee obsession, weightloss) and nothing fits anymore I have to replace my entire wardrobe. However I am starting to get a little bored with that. I've been considering how I can contribute to Puppy in a less time consuming way that won't compromise my health/career/sanity/marriage.

I may end up just contributing to woof development if Barry will take my patches. I'd also be open to working on collaborative projects if there are any talented devs with good communication skills and a compatible vision.

I'm not good at being only moderately obsessed with something which is why I probably shouldn't work large projects by myself. I simply can't be the main person responsible to maintain a whole os, a whole website, and a whole package repo. It's insane.

Puppeee is a wonderful distribution and I thank Jemimah for putting forth the time and effort. It was the best distro for my Eee pc 900 at the time and everything worked so well.

The later Lucid Puppy, and now Slacko Puppy also works fine for my netbook. Every one who has an Eee pc should give it a try. I think the need for a separate Puppy derivative for the Eee pc is now no longer necessary, with such fine main editions.
