lost tray

#1 Post by ccaaee »

Hello

I'm working on a full hard disk installed 5.2.8 puppy with openbox and seem to have lost the tray/menubar/doc (select the best term for that bar at the bottom with menu on the left side and clocks etc to the right).

Anyone know how to get it back ?

Thanks

C

First thing to check.
Right click on open area of desktop.
desktop->desktop settings->Fbpanel configuration
Check the main settings.Make sure the ones circled in red look like these.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected :shock:

Me replying to myself

This is not a fix but it works. Puppy 5.2.8 uses openbox as its default window manager. By switching to jwm things are back the way thy should be.

Menu -> Desktop -> Desktop settings -> WM switcher ...
