Kitty Linux seems best to me but what if the Company that have "Kitty" for a lot of product have trade marked it in same way?
Not being a puppy at all? it should not have reference to puppy in name.
would be confusing.

Name Suggestions |
|
Now that I've got the gist of the README.txt, the evil part of my mind is at work. Sometimes, I get that kind of free time. (sigh) Then, I tend to wander.
Really, the website's down? Could they have an issue with the name?
(Did I mention that I wander sometimes?)
I hesitate to do this, because people take naming their creations so personally when the whole thing is meant in jest. Oh, what the hell.
Litterbox Linux
Distemper Linux
It's so Fluffy Linux or Itsofluffy Linux
Stray Kitten Linux (my favorite) or Stray Puppy Linux
I'm not Rover Linux or Stop calling me Rover Linux
Oooops, the spouse is calling. I hav'ta go. No doubt I will think of
really good ones later.

Tomcat Linux?
Bobcat Linux?
Mouser Linux?
CatNap Linux?
CrevasseOS? As in, "There are Puma's in the Crevasses", or possibly double entendre.

Yeah, actually "Stray" works really well, especially as it could be considered Debian or Puppy "straying" from the norm.
I think that's pretty slick, borgbucolic!

Well all the fuss was about apt-get.
So why not apt-get puppy.

Beem it is no puppy in any way is it? so he would lie or something.
Hey BobCat looks very nice and that is not a bad word like Pussy are to some.
But sadly it could be trademark again? Bobcat is that not a famous back loader or what them are called. Small machines for doing work on roads and such?
Can one just take a work like that?

As far as I understand, it is a complete distro with apt-get as package manager.

Yes I talked to IguLeder about it and his response was that Puppy is puppy but Pussy Linux is Debian and not Puppy and that is what Sickgut says too?

Well there are debian puppy's also.
If this one isn't a puppy or derivative, there is no place for it here in the forum.

How about - NPL
Nearly Puppy Linux.
Also like Stray -
sickgut wanted and asked for help to make this into a puppy,
not quite there yet - but getting close.
Am sure that a few pointer's from those that are knowledgeable would
push this in the right direction.
It has JWM already - just needs a mounting tool on the desktop,
it runs as root, most other bits are there, or can be apt-get'ted.
Would be nice to have a Stray Puppy around, just has claws
instead of paws - and Meow's then Growls at startup instead of
Woof Woof.
Very best regards - and thanks for trying to give us a NPL or Stray
or whatever you decide to call it.
Raymondo.

Now that I thought about it Subject description: More on Stray |

I just had this logo in mind (evil thoughts again) of an angry wet cat. There was a double meaning here, but it escapes me at the moment along with a whole list of system sounds, pointers, and other artwork.
I can see the point about the Debian installer though. I'm working through a Linux install where I had to go to Fedora's repositories, because there was a lack of applications that was needed from the distro maker.
One of the downsides of Puppy is removing applications you don't use. It can be a hassle depending on what it is.

Like Ray point out. It can be made into something like puppy but it does not start with code from Barry.
Beem is that not a very formal way to see it? Puppy can learn from experiments that learn from puppy even if them are Debian as coded.
Dpup is something other. That is a true Pup version but using Debian repository. Pussy as I get it is Debian but thinking like Puppy?
Maybe SickGut should explain what goal him had.
