I want something like this:

Linpus 9.4 lite

Remember, is for kids about 6 to 12, so, abuse about their innocence, no problem.

If you are looking for puppy linux with light KDE here it is:
http://meownplanet.net/dejan/kdpup/kdpup-lite.iso
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=55301
You can ask dejan555 how he made it.

Thx! :D But i just found this sfs from forum

http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?search_id=1708027904&t=71359

is for 528, and looks light...

My problem is how to implement (how to do) the tab-based interface using kde and puppy...

or, if possible, would be better if we don´t need to use KDE, and a lighter wm can be used for cause this tab effect...

again, sorry about my bad english...

The SFS you found is 225 MB and from the link I gave you you can get working Dpup+KDE for 219 MB size all together. This why I suggested you to ask dejan555 to tell you how to make KDE smaller (around 100 MB). Or you can just use his 219 Mb puppy with KDE included.

My kdpup uses kde3 and the sfs you found is kde4 which is bigger in size so not sure how would you go about making it much smaller.

Tabbed interface - you mean this start menu tabs from screenshot?
There was a simple and light enviroment I don't remember how it's called now, I think it was mostly targeted at portable devices but there was pet for puppy.
Could be the one that saintless mentioned

Daniumta, magerlab was spot on with his suggestion of lxlauncher in Fluppy, and jemimah herself has chipped in too I see!

I can't speak of anything in Puppy5.2X, but I have used dejan555's KDElibs pet in earlier versions and it works extremely well for me - would be a good choice if you wanted to follow that path re desktop management. (Or would iguleders' more recent 'Trinity' pet be another alternative, I'm thinking aloud)

sidders long ago was very busy with a (JWM) "HanSamBen 431- Kids Linux distro" http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=56557. I've just recently re-posted links to his iso's for historical interest here http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=75074 - and now you have me wondering if I could use a version of lxlauncher in it!

GamesPup216 is another puplet of historical interest - it uses xfce4 and a launcher menu from a wbar, my children find easy to navigate (plus it had an early gxine that works great for avi movies).

So - thank you for your interest in creating a puppy4kids - you follow a long tradition since 'EduPup' and I hope you get all the support you need :),
Cheers!

@ Daniumta
I do not know if this may interest you ...
Version of "Puppy French kids" has been active for several years ..

A multilingual version is planned for summer 2012.

 So sorry ASRI - and thanks also for OOo4Kids that I had problems with in a dying computer, when I promised feedback many moons ago. Yes, Toutou should definitely be added to the Puppy4Kids Hall of Fame.

It won't be great in official puppies due to the icons all being so small. The problem is fixed in saluki and I'd be happy to help you with compiling any software you need.

p-launch is outdated, the latest is here:

http://smokey01.com/saluki/pet_packages ... saluki.pet

To change the menu categories you need to edit the source code and recompile.
http://smokey01.com/jemimah/saluki/sour ... hes.tar.gz

To set a background, just rename it to /usr/share/backgrounds/puppy-launcher.jpg

Thsi seems very interesting. The screen layout @Jemimah is rather novel and simple.

@Daniumta, Are you building a new Puppy here?

Will you be sharing this work as an ISO for the Puppy community to test and use? Or is this a closed project?

Do you have anything in PUP528 that we can test now?

Thanks in advance.
