Kirk,
All others having WIFI problems with Realtek RTL8192se device,

I downloaded the updated firmware and driver PETs in the post preceding this one.
I installed the PETs, rebooted, and my WIFI was found instantly.
Since my DSL modem has a key, I used the network wizard to set it up.

But now, I am online from my Toshiba laptop and like it.

I have to express my feelings here.

The rt5390sta driver, after a bit of coaxing, did the trick, and I am posting from FD54-520 ATM..

OK, so I have the devx..
Where is the kernel source sfs for 3.03??
Time to make some 64 bit apps...

Blacklisted 2800 as suggested, but 5390 didnt show up after install..
Rebooted.. No change...
Specified it and got no new interface.. Sad

Rebooted, and there was ra0 as hoped... Rolling Eyes

A side note...
On the newer kernels > 2.6.38.x the wireless switch is inoperable, but only after X loads.. If I press it before X loads, it will come on.. Odd...

And I understand where Sage is coming from.
What a sad world it's become.

Thanks, guys, Fatdog65-520 is happily running in both Atom boards that I have: 230 and 410. I see that these Atoms are 64-bit compatible!

I can forget the blues in my Fusion laptop for now. [Correction below.]

EDIT: Since I added "radeon.modeset=0" in the kernel line while testing Racy Alpha, this AMD Fusion laptop has behaved nicely, and am using it now with FD64-520. Using synaptics multi-touch = WOW !!!

I dont like seeing that your Fusion dont fire up and a atom does. My E-350 Fusion in an Acer Aspire only has a small hick-up in the touchpad. Firstly try firing up the live CD with a mice plugged in. I had no trouble doing a 'full install' to the HD, sfs's load on the fly, well Openshot did, does. 'adjust touchpad' in 'setup' dont work' touchpad might be too new for the kernel. My work around was to delete xorg.config (etc/x11) and to rename 'xorg.config without synaptics' (or what ever t.pad you have) as the new xorg.config and then change the min. mice speed from 1 up to 3 and max. speed up to 4. Very sloooow mice pointer. So if you can boot from any other Puppy CD try that.

Hello,
Last summer Jamesbond and Kirk tried to help me get Fatdog 500 working on a VIA nano netbook, but it would freeze at the "loading kernel modules" stage. This post is to let you know that version 520 loads and runs as a frugal install. So far everything works, and I like it a lot.
