tlchost asks DaveS

Would it be possible to make a pet of the new Forefox 7 available?

Thanks

Dave wow that is nice and friendly, caring even. oops yes I know it is the FF7 Beta. Anyway I remember that I got it working.

I joined some Nightly build testing on mozilla but not sure how ir works with updates to the standard version. Maybe them are always nightly builds even when the Standard version arrives.
end of edit

I am so messed up now. Should one use pets or SFSs instead?

I have now used a pet installed Firefox that works in pemasu's old Snow 5 because that one allow me to save musik files much easier than the modern ones so I still ahve FF 3.6.22 :)

But I also ahve FF4 and FF5 and FF6 and FF7 but not installed.
have just saved the pet files just in case.

And I want to use Pup-Rescue and that way get Antivirus and Bleachbit and to be modern so if your pet work in Lupu528 that would be great. :)

Edit now I am back in FF from Chromium that I loaded using seaside's SFS-exec or SFS-tray. Used on for C12 and the other for C14. :)

I guess I use latest build in either Slacko or in Lupu 528 latest version.

So I should look into it ASAP tomorrow or on Saturday.

Ah you have done it again. But now the latest one?
Do I strain your patience if I ask for an sfs too?
SFS are so flexible to use :) But thanks very much for the .pet.
I will use it in your Pupu-rescue distro

Edit, oh that is great. Then I wait with going to bed until the sfs is there then. :) Much appreciated.

haha I looked in too early for to download the SFS it says
OI! What are you doing? You're not supposed to be here! the bathroom's that-a-way >>
OR: this is an error code 403, which means that access is forbidden.

and now it has decided that I am some kind of nosy kid that should not get in. It says that text each time. Maybe some permission you ahve to change?
or maybe I am still in a cache and should do F5 nope that did not help

Dave check of you forgot to change the permissions to enter.

it does not ask for puppy linux anymore so something has changed.

Edit nope it still fails and I ahve done F5 Okay I go clear the cache totally. Shut down browser.

Nope that file don't allow me to access it.
all the others there just work them start up the download process while
the latest one says same things each time despite me logged out and

But I do have a poor memory but I have read this has happen to others them upload sometbing and forget to set permissions for download. Maybe it was Barry? Anyway on of teh known Devs

I haven't tested Dave's compile of 7.0 but Mozilla says there is a rare issue in 7.0 "where some users could find one or more of their add-ons hidden after a Firefox update", see also: http://blog.mozilla.com/addons/2011/09/ ... -upgrades/. Mozilla says they have fixed this bug in firefox 7.0.1.

This firefox 7.0 add-on bug affected also to some 7.0 beta versions, I think. Sometimes it was hard to shutdown firefox 7.0 because of some malfunctioning add-ons, and you have to kill firefox 007.0 or reboot X server. I rejected 7.0 betas or 7.0 immediately because of this bug. Maybe not so rare bug Mozilla insists?

Both the .pet and SFS installs I uploaded will autoupdate to 7.0.1. They should continue to autoupdate whenever a fix etc is rolled out by Mozilla.

Good that you warned about 8.0 I have huge problem with it too.
Extremely slow. Fail to work with addons one are used to have.
I am on 7.0.1 now so hope that one will work good.

What about security?
When I read about 3.6.23 then they say
them will update it just a short time and
then I am supposed to use a later version.

Phased out as they name it. So what to do.
Only 3.6.23 has the saving of youtube being super simple.
All the others need elaborated knowledge how to find the flash files.

How dangerous is it to continue with 3.6.23?

My strategy now is to preserve or reserve one
special old puppy that have 3.6.23 and then use FF7
on later versions so I can boot up the old one when needed?
What else would be practical?
