Why would Xorgwizard get the tray in order. How are they related

The reason I don't want to use xorgwizard is that it usually set the wrong
resolution due to internal being 1024 x 600 so it set the external to such
and then it is almost impossible to get 1024 x 768 back while Grandr
always get the 1024 x 768 So I will only use Xorgwizard if you really
know it is the only way to get tray to always be there.

It does come up two times but it get lost when it redraws the third time.

Look at personal set up here. Looks right to me so why should
I use xorgwizard when it is already right?

What I need is to get Tray to load reliably. How can Xorg do that with
changing resolution?

nooby,

I gave you a suggestion to use Xorgwizard, because that is what normally works with Puppy. You seem to have a much better understanding of how your system works than I do. So stick with what works for you.
I assume the problem is with an external 14.7" monitor.
The 14.7" monitors native resolution is what?
Are there any setting buttons on this monitor?
Ones that will allow monitor adjustments internally?
Most monitors have these.
Mine has an auto adjust button that cures most problems by just pressing it.

bigpup, my kudos to you for being so friendly and patient.
You actually got it right. I thought it where not so polite of me
to not even test your suggestion. The reason I didn't want to
are due to me want to use Grandr to shut down the internal
screen on the netbook and only look at the External screen

And activating Xorgwizard destroy that.

After reading your friendly response above I gave it a shot
and you are absolutely right about X, it restored the Tray
so now it does load tray each time but instead I lost the
closing down of the internal screen. But maybe that is always
something one have to do manually? Or is it the Auto thing
in Grandr that compete with Xorg and that way makes tray
to disappear? I know too little.

Seems it does not want to do it unless I manually do it each time.

Haha which take more time and actions than to restart the xorg. Hehe.

Anyway good that tray works now. So much appreciated that you cared.

Where did you get Grandr?

I see by your posted image you are using the vesa driver.
May be able to get better results if you can use a manufactures driver specific to your graphics hardware.

What does Quickpet->drivers tab->click here to test your graphics card
recommend?

What!? Did you use my pet? Look at the /usr/bin/google-chrome in the Lucid Chrome pet to see how to avoid the won't run as root message (you have to specify the datadir).

It is working OK for me, but they could have changed something that caused a problem with the older hardware????

Were you using Lucid? I would pretty definitely not work in Slacko--I have to make another pet for that.

Just checked....that line is there in the Chrome 20 pet.

Reinstalled 19 .... working fine. Everybody is leaving the older hardware behind I guess.

I trust it is from some server for Puppy.
Maybe Smokey or ??? grandr-0.1-i486.pet

You are most right about drivers.
I have Acer D255 Atom CPU and the Intel Chips.
Most likely I should use Mesa 1.8 something but
I did the set up now and you where right.
It recommended a "High" driver so I installed it.

Further Chrome 20 testing update....... installed pet in a frugal install on a P4 ......working fine with no problems.
