I noticed that the puppy package manager has a static list of repositories and download URL on its application itself. If one of the server on the list is broken then link on the PPM is useless just like what happened on nluug.nl last year. Is there anyway to make the PPM more dynamic?
I suggest that if the PPM has a database file for list of packages, the URL list and repo list must have a database to update the PPM more easily and without re-releasing Puppy if one of the URL in PPM is broken.
Make Puppy Package manager more dynamic
It seems to me hard to predict if a server will give up business or relocate directories. If this happens, which it could, how about a small patch to fix things on the local computer?
In other words, I think the current releases can be used swell if patched, and the next releases can reflect the changes.
