How to Modify the Puppy ISO

#1 Post by dan0804smith »

Friend and I are trying to slim down puppy linux booted from a CD(without a harddrive) by getting rid of extraneous programs, ones that we do not need, in order to make puppy faster. We also wish to add programs such as Oprah and Wine. We need access to the file folders and we were wondering what the best way to go about that would be.

Should we attempt to modify the ISO?

Should we attempt a modification from inside puppy?

How should we do this?

Sorry didn't see a thread posted, if someone can provide a link to one that would be much appreciated. If not some answers would also be acceptable :).

(1). I think (better) you need to frugal install your puppy. Then remove the stuffs needed (those you don't like).
(2). Add your programs
(3). Remaster and test the new remaster
(4). Finally, make iso from remaster.
