Thanks stu90 of starting information for openbox. As exchange, I have now fixed laptop-tools-all for Dpups. I will upload it to the repo.
Dave S. Sorry, I cant help you much. I know next to nothing about openbox. I havent ever included it in my puplets. Sorry.

First icons fixing UPDATE pet is ready. It has also Shutdown icon in e17 desktop. For those who are absolutely lost in space, it is emergency button to launch the lifepod-capsule. Those who dont need it, just remove safety labels. Bacon recorder has been updated also.

To get EFM ( e17 filemanager ) to show all folders aka being in the root of folders:
Right click that Home icon in e17 desktop > Application settings > remove that HOME word in file:$HOME row. That way you get folders root as starting point. There is no easy way to do that in e17 preferences, no config file to edit, unfortunately. So I cant include that improvement in UPDATE.

To install that UPDATE 0.0.2, use Menu > Setup > Setup... > Dpup Exprimo Updater, if it does not work, it is in the pet_packages-exprimo repo in Smokey01.com.
UPDATE 5.X.5 0.0.2 is cumulative. You can remove the 5.X.5 UPDATE 0.0.1 first and then install 0.0.2.

I will inspect soon apps I will change. PDF convert app surely is one of them. I dont want Abiword dependent apps in base distro.

These are the openbox packages i used in Dlite puppy - i don't have time to turn into pets right now so are just in archive.

Openbox

Obconf

Thanks Stu. The link for obconf does not work but I think I have it somewhere.
Will give it a shot.
Oops this link should be correct.

yes 'xwin openbox' is the command to start openbox.

Perhaps there is missing dependency - try running command:
ldd /usr/bin/openbox

Also just noticed my edited fixmenus script is still in there /usr/bin/fixmenus - this will remove all JWM menu icons to make it look more like openbox and is probably lacking what ever is needed to generate E17 menus. Best to use Exprimo's fixmenus.

Openbox only, no panel, Firefox 7, and the brilliant MyGtkMenu from Stu90, why? Because we can! :)

Image

Now. Fbpanel. MUCH MUCH more able than Puppy has led us to believe. Has Conky like abilities, alowing it to show general monitored processes such as CPU temp, number of new mails in Gmail, freespace, mem in use, wifi network name, on and on. You just have to know how to configure it, which I dont! :(
Will set up a .pet for it when I do Openbox.

Great Dave S. I could implement one click survival kit if default e17 is too much :D
Anyway, I will gladly upload your pet to the Dpup Exprimo repo also, and so will stu90, I am sure.

Openbox .pet uploaded. It INCLUDES Obconf (configuration GUI), missing libs, and fix for fixmenus. Works perfectly on a fresh install on my system, please test. Somehow it adds an entry to windowmanager switcher :)
Download from here http://puppylinuxstuff.meownplanet.net/DaveS/exprimo/

Fbpanel to follow for those that want a less minimalistic approach :)

Thanks Dave S. Better than me Openbox users could test it. I will gladly add it to the repo and also to the Exprimo packages-puppy-exprimo-official database so that it is visible in PPM and installable through it.

There is no mystery that it adds itself to the Wmswitcher. The switcher script has entries for openbox, icewm, jwm, enlightenment included. Install one of those wm`s and it will be in the list automatically. Nice script. Originally 01mickos product, quality stuff and Radky improved it for Dpups. Thank you both.

Fbpanel.pet uploaded to same place. It uses links instead of duplicated icons for size.

If you downloaded it, please delete and download openboxexprimo-1.20. I have changed the menu to mirror yours and call PupShutdown, Help, and Wmswitcher. Also 1.10 contains a faulty fixmenus which breaks icons in JWM menu, and fails to set up icons in Fbpanel. The standard fixmenus as included in the base distro is actually correct, so the current Openbox .pet no longer overwrites it. Appologies :(

Dave S. No problem. I download them again. I havent uploaded yet anything to the exprimo repo or uploaded new database file.
So...no problems for me. I was going to test your wm pets this evening later.
So...your info came just in time. These things happen all the time. For me and for many others also. No problem. :D

Dave S. I have uploaded fbpanelexprimo-1.0.pet and openboxexprimo-1.20.pet to the pet_packages-exprimo repo.

I removed Pupclockset from fbpanelexprimo pet, since you had older 1.5.6 version packaged in it. Dpup Exprimo uses already PupControl 1.6 version which has bug fixes compared to the older version. No use to downgrade already newer and fixed version.

Otherwise I think you pets creates working Openbox-Fbpanel environment to the Dpup Exprimo. Next will be Xfce, Kde and...

I simplified the Enlightenment menu by removing all submenus.

If you like the menus, like me, better as simplified menus without anykind submenus, install the attached pet, and there you go.

After Exprimo Update 0.0.2, the Pmount GUI has a 'large' icon for mounted drives, but this can be a problem for those who mount multiple partitions. The vertical dimension of the Pmount GUI can extend outside the viewable screen. :)

Oops. I need to change it to more reasonable. I didnt change spesifically Pmount icon but it seems to use same icon as the app I changed it for.
I have to fix it.

Edit. I found more suitable one. Not oversized but good looking version for mini-filemgr.xpm. I will include that one. I will upload the next UPDATE for my icons - DOTdesktop files and probably simplified enlightenment menus...if I dont get much protests.
