Polarpup-004 update has been bigger task than I thought. Right clicks for it, latest woof quirks, changing the Pet repos preferences since Packages-puppy-5-official has begun to be too old for some apps. Change to wary5 and testing the pets, excluding some and compiling newer versions of Qt4 apps has taken time. I will update Pidgin to the latest and then I upload Polarpup-004.
Good news. Gnome-mplayer and Gecko-mediaplayer 1.05b1-svn compiles and works. The gtk bug has been fixed, I believe. It still gives some error to xerrs.log but apps works and that is main thing. I will test next compile in Dpup.
After upload I have time with Dpup again.

LibreOffice downloads 518 bytes then declares the download complete.

Everything else appears to download fine.

Anyone experienced this?

Edoc. The problem was due to changed permissions during upload. I have fixed the LibreOffice sfs pet. gFTP do this to me all the time. I will use Filezilla now on. Smokey01 provided Filezilla which I petted and uploaded to the repo also.

I am now testing Iguleders e17 building scripts. I have now compiled e17 and e-17 modules with it in Polarpup.

My son got bone marrow TEN fix out yesterday in hospital (due to refractures of arm).
I installed my latest Polarpup to my mothers old laptop and he watches movies and plays flashgames with it while keeping his other arm up. It starts to hurt if he lowers it. But he sure is satisfied with Puppy. Today when he woke up, he went downstairs and started to use Puppy. Wireless, Firefox, Flash, Umplayer with finnish subtitles works fine. Transformers watched and a lot movies in usb hdd more. He does not go school for couple of days but while we are at work, Puppy keeps him happy.

Wow, re. your son, that medical procedure sounds challenging. Great news that he is on the mend and that Puppy is serving him well during recovery. What is his first name, if OK to share, for me to use as I remember him in prayer?

OK on LibreOffice, I sure appreciate you making it available!

There are so many Puplets coming and going I cannot keep up - is there a really up-to-date page that shows the status of them all?

I'll have to check out Polarpup - you may want to add a link to it in your sig.

Thanks again!

My youngest son is Tuomas, we call him Tumppi (Shorty in english). I named my ever first public puplet according to him. My first Snow Puppy was Tumppi Puppy. He was in hospital when I uploaded my first Puppy, so he got his own OS when he came back.

I havent bothered to advertise my puplets. They are all in Derivatives section.

Anyway. My first compile of e17 is ready. It has all needed stuff in one pet. Install it and there you go. This one has been compiled in Polarpup, so it should be fine for Lucid Puppies. I will upload it soon.

Hi Pemasu,

Here is experimental bluetooth .pet for dpup - it would only be 1mb if not for the 2 massive libs gnome-bluetooth needs to display a tray icon :(

download (3.4mb)
http://www.smokey01.com/stu90/dpup.sque ... th-0.4.pet

You can send files to phone from computer / and from phone to computer.

or use obexfs to mount phone as a drive - drag and drop copy in rox-filer produces a "cp: preserving times for XXX.XX.XXX Function not implemented" - i read on google search this is not a supported feature of Fat filesystem? - i dont know but files copy over ok - or just use cp command for no error. :)

Here is obexfs page on setting up mount
http://dev.zuckschwerdt.org/openobex/wiki/ObexFs

use command sdptool browser for getting device channel

use command hcitool scan for getting device id.

Image

cheers.

Wow, really nice. I'll try to play with Bluetooth stuff once I get ffmpeg, DOSBox and DeaDBeeF ready.

I also want to set up a Packages-puppy-dpup-repository, to act as an "official" repository for all packages common to all Squeeze-based dpup breeds - we can share bug reports and stuff. I can put there all the stuff from Next and some additional applications, plus heaps of fonts.

What do you think?

I think that one dpup repo for all those dpup pets that are compiled in dpup would be really good.

Something like common repo in Barrys repositories which is about working with all his builds.

Repository which will have all tested pets which works with different dpups straight or with adding maybe some libs.

It would be useful and also compiling stuff in dpups would be more meaningful.

You have access to mine and stu90`s repos. Compiled stuff will profilirate in time when you have motivation.

I noticed that Barry has responded on your request and created enabled repo rows for dpup and I was really satisfied. Keep up good work. We try to follow even though our pace is little bit slower.

I started e17 compile now in Dpup. I will compile also latest svn gnome-mplayer and gecko-mediaplayer also. I would need decent ffmpeg and mplayer combo for it also. Thats one missing element. I am novice when it comes to compiling shared libs ffmpeg and mplayer. I havent even tried it before. Not sure if I have knowledge enough to do it. 01micko and Iguleder would know about it much more. If you see this post, please comment.

E17 compile was success. Using it now in Dpup. Now I have to check what modules Iguleder has stripped out. All Illume at least. Maybe Dpup is not yet in smart phones. But there is other modules also left out.

I will make a pet of this and upload it tomorrow. Thenit is time to compile some multimedia players.

I believe stu90`s latest Umplayer with Qt4 libs works also in Dpups. Need to test it.

Don570 localtime fix will be added to the next version with cumulative UPDATE. Soon is time to make next Exprimo version also.

Downloading seems to work ok my end -
In youtube popup window - right click on a video then click on record video - then try looking for youtube downloads in the directory /root/.config/umplayer/recordings

Umplayer rocks. I have to admit.

I have learned many new things of e17. You get desktop icons launchers just symlinking /usr/share/applications/DOTdesktop files to /root/Desktop. Place Pmount and Rox-filer there and there you go.
I also compiled new e17 with filemanager EFM included and placed Home icon for it to the desktop. I changed the default icon to more appropriate.
It has copy-paste functionality, otherwise it loses to Rox-filer.

I probably include those to the next version. This new e17 has been really stable for me. Almost no crashes. Only when I temper with Windows settings it does not like when I play with them.

Right clicking Ibar > Shelf bottom > Settings > Style > Alternate enables the theme colour change to the shelf.

Forecasts and photo modules added. Forecasts module is really nice. Connection manager left out, also Illume and couple others I dont remember now. Looks good now.
JWM - E17 will be the wm`s in next version. Soon I have to start to read what Barry changed to the woof. There has been quite profound improvements.

pemasu, I got ffmpeg to compile with ffplay. I get segfaults when I attempt to play videos, but it works well for audio.

Now I'm writing a new build script for mplayer, I wonder how small we can get it.

Hi, Iguleder. Lol. I posted to your Next thread my questions about your mplayer2-ffmpeg-static.
Good to know that better than me do the same thing than me. I would need platform for gnome-mplayer and gecko-mediaplayer of latest svn. They compiled fine using 01mickos latest Lucid Puppy mplayer-ffmpeg which he posted during Lucid devel some time ago. I have already made sfs of them with 1.04 versions of gnome-mplayer and geckomediaplayer.
I am wondering can I use your compiles to do that in Dpup and using latest svn.
