I deleted my save file and rebooted the computer and loaded beta6,kirk wrote:The ATI installer doesn't know what to do with /usr/X11R7. Nvidia knows where to install things. I'll make a ATI pet package once we're sure about the kernel. The open source driver in beta 6 (and earlier) works pretty well but I don't
understand why the proprietary driver can't work too, anyhow,I hope this info is
useful.

I plugged in a flash drive to access a file and as soon as I did that
it caused a kernel panic and a black screen full of text with info
about interupts and kernel 2.6.38.8, the lights on my keyboard were
flashing also.
Can you reproduce this without the ATI stuff in there? If so can you take a picture of the kernel panic?
then rebooted again creating a new save file.
I plugged in one flash drive and it was okay so I plugged in a second
flash drive and it produced a kernel panic.
The pictures aren't great but maybe you can see enough.
