I don't checked if someone already compiled this, but, since I'am actively supporting puppy 3.01 series, I have compiled

madwifi-0.9.4
- http://www.dokupuppylinux.co.cc/programs:wireless

it contains kernel modules (2.6.21.7) for wireless adapters based on atheros chipset

It's worth mentioning that Puppy 3.x already contains the MADWiFi (ath_pci) driver, as standard.

Is this version significantly different, such as having been patched to support aircrack-ng, for example?

Dingo wrote:... for wireless adapters based on atheros chipset
Yes, but certainly not all Atheros wifi chipsets. Specifically the ath_pci driver supports the Atheros AR5xxx series of wifi devices, in PCI and Cardbus form.

That's good, it's exactly the information I was asking for, and what was absent from the first post.

This is the part that's relevant to Puppy -
* introduces Minstrel rate control algorithm
* several bug fixes to improve stability
These are not relevant to the average Puppy user, in the normal client mode -
* fixes compilation for recently released kernel 2.6.24
* introduces switch to turn ANI (Ambience Noise Immunity) off, which can help to improve performance (see also #705)
* now defaults to radiotap headers in monitor mode
* adds support for variable number of VAPs, tunable via module parameter

Anyone have this?
