I have looked everywhere I can think of - on and off this forum and have found no driver for my Logitech webcam.
Model# V-UM14
Part# 861092-0020
Serial# LZA 45100294

Can someone point me in the right direction?
Paul

What does hardinfo, (Menu>System>System Status>Hardinfo>USB), say is the devices VendorID & ProductID?

Also, what puppyversion are you using?

Paul,

I think your webcam is covered by the quickcam_messenger module, which p431 already has.

Try running, in a console:

Code:
modprobe quickcam_messenger

and see if that makes any difference.

ok, I entered the line in the console window and get nothing.
Well I get a new line with the #prompt but no messages and no place to view camera output. Tried viewing output in Gxine and GtKam.
GTKam doesn't find a camera when scan or rescan is used and I have scrolled through all of the add camera cams listed for usb and get the message, "Could not initialize camera".
Maybe I just don't have the right viewing software?

1. "Maybe I just don't have the right viewing software?"
Try installing and running guvcview. [PET plus dependencies]

It works for me in Lupu-526. Very Happy

I was wondering, if you got the webcam working, what software you were going to use with p431?

Anyway, I can save you the trouble of trying the Guvcview .pet, linked to by Sylvander above, as it is glibc incompatible with p431.

The Ucview .pet, compiled by Jemimah here, does display for me on p431, after I've installed the additional dependencies, howver I'm unable to use the "Record Video" function.

Or, is there any reason why you can't use a newer version of puppy, that already has guvcview?
