The same frisbee pet also works fine in Wary513 by the way.....

So some change in spup312.37 is stopping this frisbee pet working - the new unique host name maybe???

Cheers

Interesting.. I'll need to take a look and see if jemimah hard coded it, but I doubt it, she is a network guru and that is I believe her profession [network consultant, unix]. PPPOE may be a different story though..

Hi,
Testing Slacko 312.37 on one more clunker 11 years old:
Medion LT9399 PIII 600MHz 192MB Ram (should be an Asus ):
Personalize settings set on fr_BE + NumLock: this was checked OK ( q encoded as q, a for a, é ,...etc...) in the check box displayed before X server restart.

Problem: Texts in abiword, gnumeric, terminal, are encoded according to us_en (q instead of a , etc...)

note: upon Xorgwizard settings, driver must be choosen on SiliconMotion manualy to get Slacko running.

Code:
VIDEO REPORT: Slacko Puppy, version 312.37
Chip description:
oem: Silicon Motion SM720 VGA BIOS

Driver used by Xorg:
device
smi
Video mode used by Xorg:
Resolution: "1024x768"  Depth: Depth 24

depth remains 24 even if 16 is choosen in xorgwizard settings after bootup.

Here is the corresponding xorg.conf:
Code:

Report on i82845 Brookdale rev. 3 vs. slacko-312.37

After successfully getting past the very first restart of X, (either by commenting out code in /usr/sbin/delayedrun as reported on the previous page, or by moving the mouse-pointer over the welcome splash before the personalise settings dialogue appears, thereby avoiding some conflict between the two first-boot scripts ...) Slacko-312.37 chugs along nicely Smile Smile.

(Only relapse of scrambled fuzziness came after increasing the pupsave-file, maybe some extra script is run or there was a timing issue or something Confused.)

Cheers Smile/ MHHP

When I chose 800x600 then the save a download popup too big for the screen. I try to upload an example how it looks as you can see the save button is way below the line.

If I chose 1024 x 768 then it revert to 1024 x 600 instead and leave a huge space below to no use.

So either one have to change Slacko so it accept 1024 x 768 or find some other solution to this problem.

From the picture it looks like you need to resize Seamonkey nooby. One way is to right-click on the titlebar of the window, choose Resize, and then drag the lower right corner upwards and left-click when it is where you want it..

You could also hold down the ALT key and then click in the Seamonkey window and move it upwards. Then you can drag the right corner up.

Thanks Playdayz.

But Geany is too big too. And the save of downloads are too big and so on. One way to solve it would to change from JWM to another window manager like Icewm or soomething like that because that one allow 1024 x 768.

Why does JWM alllow 1024 x 768 on Lupu and Snow and Fluppy and Wary and Drake but not on Slacko?

Sorry if I whine or sound critical Smile Not my intention but this has gone on or been like this for a very very long time.

So the better way would be to let Slacko work as good as both lupu 525, Two headed and three headed do. All of them allow me to choose 1024 x 768 and that makes everything look okay.

So what is it about Slacko that makes it behave this awkward way?

Nooby, After you change the resolution, try Menu -> Shutdown -> Restart X-Server. JWM does not automatically resize the desktop properly when the resolution is changed.

Jay! Much appreciated I got a severe headache due to the 800 x600 problem but now I am back in 1024 x 768 and you made it possible.

Playdayz, your a true Gem, Brilliant as we say over here in Sweden
Smile

I had no idea it was that simple. So many month of struggle and no solution and then you just say the saving words and it just works.

Now I can go to bed and know that tomorrow even Slacko works on my gear. Future looks bright.

sorry the window resize issue has annoyed me. i think it is something in woof that has failed to be fix for a long time. while it has been fixed long ago in lupu and puppeee. not even brave enough to look at the package manager.

It should be a fantastic browser for Spup however... there is one slight problem... 'It Doesn't Work' in slacko-312.37 - Nor does any other Chromium or Iron version browser!!!!!

I have mentioned this many times throughout the Spup versions!!!!!

Hi Indian, hi guys,

The NLS version of Chromium is for languages other than English?
Well I downloaded and tried the non-NLS version of Chromium Mick compiled and it is working on my Slacko computer. Smile

What do you get when running or trying to from command line?
