Remember to copy the save file and change the filename so that it starts luci rather than lupu - for example lucisave-merlin.2fs instead of lupusave-merlin.2fs - what you're seeing is Puppy 'Working as Designed' and avoids test versions munging your main save. That said, always back up anyway.

Are you using a Static IP Address setup? Puppy only auto-configures when you're using DHCP.

chromium-14 fixed and chromium-14-lucid525 failed to install.
os seems very responsive, even tor seems more so. |
I got Chromium installed, but it crashes a lot in this Lucid.

Chromium just isn't working for me. But did get Opera 11.50-10784-i386-opt.sfs installed and working after installed pemasu's sfs_load-1.1-fixed.
Iron-12-lucid installed and functions without issue so far.

I just noticed that Rox filer -> Right-click -> Window -> Terminal Here opens an rxvt terminal, instead of urxvt. We fixed the menu option that did that so I think we could fix this. But where????
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am using Chromium 14 from the lucid525 pet (which I fixed like pemasu's). It installed and ran the first time. This is in luci-262 though. Perhaps someone got a bad download--use this link for ibiblio.

But I do remember that Chromium 14 was flaky, so I started using Iron 12.

Chromium 14 is a bleeding edge nightly build, guaranteed to be flaky somehow

Over time I tried a frisbee 5.2 beta pet, but I think it was beta 1.
But the problem didn't go away.
Will try this beta 2 one.
@Iguleder.
I followed quite a while pemasu's cold puppy's and I didn't have much problems anymore. These puppy's use frisbee.
So frisbee beta 2 could well be a solution

Hi playdayz ,
regarding right click terminal the file is
/root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/ROX-Filer/Options
change it to <Option name="menu_xterm">urxvt</Option>

Let's see

streaming in Firefox |

As reported earlier in 525, opposed to prior versions, streaming from Dutch television did not work in Firefox, (though in Opera).
Same thing here.

Not that I know of.
Why do you ask?
Because that is what happens due to a script in Startup folder |
This is a kludge. The problem is that if Openbox is refreshing it's menus, which can take a while, and someone exits X while that is happening, then the menus can be screwed up. Running it at startup makes sure of good menus. The problem happened to me several times so I figured the kludge was worthwhile.

Anyway can we please have the older isolinux back again?

Perhaps someone responded to my earlier request and I missed it, while combing through this thread.

Is this based on luci-260? i understood that Instant Update 001 had a fix for syslinux problems thaqt were in 5.2.5. That fix has been incorporated into luci-260, and now luci-262. If it created a problem instead of or in addition to fixing one we can work on it--please let me know.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I am uploading luci-262 at the moment. There is a luci-261 but it is not released. This is becoming an exciting release for me--a good balance between bug fixes, updates, and new capabilities. Because of the updates to modem-modprobe by rerwin, some hardware that did not work correctly previously should work now.

Some Tests! |
|
playdayz:
Tried the IRON 12 in 260... works great 'Thanks'
One item we really need... No Screen Blank as a 'regular menu entry' in the desktop! The .pet available from the Forum Does NOT Work in 260.
Also... jre-1.6.0.22 in the PPM is 'Out-Dated' we need an upgrade there or the addition of some later ones!
Still testing!!!!!
