From their wesite:
http://www.eduroam.org/ "(EDUcation ROAMing) is a global WLAN roaming infrastructure. It is used both in international research and education community and allows users to log in to eduroam network anywhere in the world using their home organisation's username and password.

Thanks Aitch!
You're a legend. I very much appreciate this information and the effort you've put in - again! I regret I am snowed under with work at present but hope to get back to this over the weekend,
In Haste :)

*EDIT* I'm not even sure whether Gnome's Keyring is absolutely necessary - why not KWalle1, which is often mentioned synonymously with Keyring? Is it just that a password manager (any) is suggested for best ease-of-reconnection with EduRoam? I see movements towards a Gnome puppy, with sickgut's Pussy/Puppy project (and Apt-get) presenting a compatible base, Wow and Eyes-only being the foremost proponents in Puppy3/Puppy4 - but it seems that for a newbie a lot of "rough" has to be installed to get at the Keyring "diamond" for Puppy5+. The latest AdobeAir pet suggests a parallel solution as it apparently has the Keyring dependencies... Hmmm...

The Keyring pet you found on MediaFire is from Toowoombalinux/LegendofThor! I'm certain that it's kosher, and I'll give him a ring if I've got installation hassles. Talk about chasing my tail... :)

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but did you get this to work? I'm also trying to connect to an Eduroam network, and tried fiddling a bit with wpa_supplicant and different .conf files, but am unsuccesful so far.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get WPA Enterprise to work with a Tunneled TLS connection? I really hope so, because it's more or less essential for my schoolwork and I don't want to switch to another distro just for this.

Qopzeep -
really sorry to have missed your post - wasn't notified of updates to this thread but I can tell you that I have Frisbee+eduRoam working dreamily across a variety of puplets (e.g., polarpup 0.3 plus some others I can't think of at present). Once you have entered YOUR specific id and it has registered - in a sort of 2-stage process that happened automagically for me and I can't explain fully - I just keep a copy of my eduRoam-operational wpa_supplicant file on a flash drive and overwrite the one on a newly-installed puplet. Thanks to Frisbee I'm always connected when on campus. I'll email more details later today when I'm on my working lappie and can see what is in my wpa_supplicant file.

I am ABSOLUTELY THRILLED with the eduRoam connectivity in Puppy. An easy-to-understand eduRoam/Frisbee connectivity app would still be ideal. Keep persevering,

Cheers!

Qopzeep (and all),

I'm hazy on recalling just how the eduRoam+Puppy5 magic happened for me - as I must have tried about 50 times over a couple of hours, with reboots etc some time before the midsemester exams (nuff said). This is how I think it finally worked:
1) Do the scan in Frisbee2 to pick up the eduRoam 'channel' (any one should do, if you have multiples like on my campus)
2) Select "Create a new profile for selected network" within Frisbee2, using the options on its front page/tab. This won't be valid, but provides a placeholder setting.
3) You might like to go into wireless diagnostics>Edit wpa_supplicant, and this shows you your current codes etc for your various networks - provided you have any. You could follow TeviotYandara's original modifications to the Identity and Password settings here, or do them from within the options in Frisbee and see the changes made here.
This is where I think Frisbee magic happened (hey jemimah :) ) :-
4) I re-booted the pupplet, Frisbee searched for and located the partially-constructed eduRoam settings...and then I saw some messages flash up about phase1 and phase2 settings and passwords. These were (from memory) automatically added to in my wpa_supplicant.conf file so that the last two lines for the eduRoam conf settings read:
phase1="peaplabel=0"
phase2="617xxxxxxxxxpossibleidentitycodeheresonotcopiedstringofnumeralsxxxxxxxxxxxx"

TLS tunnelling encryption completing the process, perhaps? I certainly don't recall manually entering new lines for phase1 and phase2. I should attempt this again with a fresh Pupplet (5-series - thanks sc0ttman for the heads-up on Akita7).

I was taking screenies of what was happening, I hope to dig those out to provide puppians with a clearer path of how to get connected with eduRoam. Please PM me if you are still having problems and would like me to provide/construct a clearer walkthrough,

In Haste,

UPDATE:
Qopzeep had posted a fabulous 'how-to' here on eduRoam connectivity, but I completely missed it until now:http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 672#564672

The matter of a one-click solution for new or inexperienced users is still unresolved however, so if any Development-minded puppian could turn their expertise in this direction, it would be hugely appreciated by the academic community...
