I can confirm that http://thepussycatforest.info/ has revert to domain name advertising.

If you could mirror the files that would be great. I will add a link on the wiki 8)

All files I have are uploaded here:
http://www.mydrive.ch/
username: guest@saintless
password: download
There are readme text for every iso file and soon I will add md5sum files also.
Any suggestions for mirror sites with permanent file storage are welcome.

Edit:29.04.2016 - I have e-mail from mydrive.ch my free account will have 100Mb storage limit in a month. I had to remove all files over 100Mb limit. Uploaded text file ISO-files-Moved-Here.txt with new storage location in dropbox in case someone visits mydrive.ch. This is the new download link:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/zsovsb7i69sr ... 7Xi5a?dl=0

Edit2: Nice surprise - the torrent file from here is still active:
https://archive.org/details/Puppy_Linux_pussy
It contains server, base and extra iso version.

And direct download for all files:

I`m curious... There`s a thread about making new a Community Edition based on Debian.
So I couldn`t help but think of Pussy.

# What is the current condition of Pussy?

1) What does it do now and what does it not do yet? ( Puppy`s boot types, SFS files, etc.)

2) How well does the app installing work? Do all apps work when installed?

3) Is there any level of making SFS files of apps?

4) I assume it`s completely built from a Debian distro.? ( No mix of Puppy files...)

# If Pussy`s far enough along, it could very well be what these folks are looking for.

Sickgut had hoped he would be able to slim down
the latest Debian but he failed getting the result he wanted
so most likely he is taking a big break due to the problems
seems difficult to solve.

So we are on our own and I am a total nobody so just sharing
how I perceive the status.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Hi nooby; Good to hear from you again. I`m sorry to hear about your condition.

As I say... Size just isn`t that important any more. ( Guys, ask your girl friends.! )
As long as its not 250+MB for the same apps Puppy has in 130+MB. Up to 200 MB is okay.

Hi, Sunburnt!
I can only answer your questions from my point of view regarding Squeezy version. Sickgut is the one who can give you more detailed information.

1) What does it do now and what does it not do yet? ( Puppy`s boot types, SFS files, etc).

It doesn't have full and frugall install script options like puppy. You need to copy the files and edit Grub to make frugal install. It needs a script to do this. Full install will need corrections in initrd with sure, but anyway there is a compromise between full and frugal install. I mean frugal install with 12 Mb squash (SFS) file and rest of the OS inside rw save file. If someone needs more information about this option I can explain it better.
it needs also better JWM graphic modifications. A matter of edited jwm file.

2) How well does the app installing work? Do all apps work when installed?
It uses apt-get and since it is pure debian based it works 100%. All apps work.

3) Is there any level of making SFS files of apps?

Same as in puppy.

4) I assume it`s completely built from a Debian distro.? ( No mix of Puppy files...)

Yes. Many puppy packages work on it after copying files in the right places. This might confuse dpkg database since there is no information about this apps there.

# If Pussy`s far enough along, it could very well be what these folks are looking for.

May be but I'm not sure about this. First intention of Sickgut was to get help from Puppy devs and make it puppy like. It didn't happen.

As long as its not 250+MB for the same apps Puppy has in 130+MB. Up to 200 MB is okay.
I can make 58 Mb squashfile as a base without Xorg ready to apt-get what they need. May be I can make it even smaller. + 2Mb vmlinuz and 10Mb initrd it will be 70Mb base for their project. It is very possible to make debian live with all regular puppy has with proper cleaning of installed files in 200 Mb.

Cheers, Toni

Hi, RickGT351.
Unfortunately the author Sickgut is no longer active in the forum and the site is closed.
Here is a backup site with most of his work Squeeze version.

And here:

Sad. This is exactly what I've been looking for. Just got done pulling my last hair out trying to get ssh to work in tahrpup from installing things in the package mismanager. Kidding. It actually does a good job, but there are some extremely annoying issues with it. Uninstalling things can be a nightmare and 3/4.

Anyway, this is a great idea. Hope it comes back to life. I would LOVE 1000x better package management.
