pemasu I'm just having my first look at Midnight Sun, very nice.
I haven't been able to break so it's pretty solid. All the important things like the browser, wifi, graphics all work fine.
I did notice the Quit button in Partview does not work.
Puppy Help 101 seems to work well. I might have to make a special version for Midnight Sun to accommodate the additional software.
Very Impressive.

Smokey01. Thank you of your report and that you tested Midnight Sun Pup. If you have energy and time, I will be very happy your extended help manual. But that is up to you.
About that quit button. It is problem which came with my compiled gtkdialog3. It seems not work right.
I will revert it to the original in Midnight Sun Pup 002.
Meanwhile, grab /usr/sbin/gtkdialog3 from some other Puppy.
I dont post pet for it, because I will upload today next version.
It has Radkys newest updates included. PupShutdown and PupSnap has been updated.

pemasu,
I don't know if it is the same in all 'cold' puppy's.
In icepuppy dhcpcd isn't found because /usr/local/sbin is missing in the PATH.
You might check if it is OK in this summer puppy.

Beem. I will check if it is needed to have it on the path. I need to boot Fluppy and check if Jemimah has that /usr/local/sbin on the path.

I checked in the fluppy 013 sfs in /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit and find: | Code: | | PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R7/bin | This seems illogical to me that /usr/local/sbin is missing also, cause when dhcpcd is executed from a console, dhcpcd isn't found.
I don't know how Frisbee copes with that.

Tablet PC Subject description: Gateway Tablet Screen Rotation |
|
Hi everyone... love the Midnight Sun... Just need to get my tablet screen to rotate and recognize my tablet PC pen. If anyone knows how to add wacom drivers or if it is in the PPM ( puppy package manager) to rotate my screen and calibrate pen... Loove it.. all I need is to get these working and I can ditch windows.
Everything else works wonders..Great speed
Using Gateway M275 Tablet PC/laptop
1.7 Mhz Processor
768 mb of Ram
14 inch screen
I know Ubuntu early versions 8 and 9 had a way to rotate screen but Ubuntu is getting as large as Windows.
Thanks

Speaker. I think don570 posted guidelines in Snow Puppy thread about wacom drivers and configuring.
Check the last 10 pages.

Beem. Frisbee handles that, I remember chasing the logical steps of Frisbee and noticed dhcpcd is called when it is needed. There are special scripts which handle that.
Anyway, I added /usr/local/sbin to the path, because infrequently people tries to launch dhcpcd from the console and wonders same thing as you.

We put 3 nets today. In the evening we checked the catch. Not bad. The fishes are perch, whitefish and pike perch.
Some of them we will smoke the rest goes as fillet to the fridgerator. And tomorrow we go again to check the nets.
My son was excited.

I suppose you get bored with all the adulation . . . . However Snowpup, or is it Sunpup now, is pretty well the bee's knees imho.
This live from 001, think I have the revised edition.
At boot Frisbee didn't swing into action, think that's what normally happens? I noticed the following in dmesg.
frisbee_tray[13603]: segfault at 0 ip b6e93b85 sp bfb3df98 error 4 in libc-2.11.1.so[b6e37000+142000]
In this session I had to use sns to get on the net, Frisbee didn't want to connect via WPA. Possibly operator error.
By the way, any particular reason for not just including Flash instead of prompting for the install? Just a wee bit of a nuisance for the chronic live CD users of this world. I could handle the iso getting a little larger.
Also Flash-related, any chance of dropping FlashBlock into the mix? That way Midnight Sun Pup would be perfect
Machine is a ThinkPad Z60m with ipw2200. Or, to be precise -

Pemasu, any idea why will not recognize puppy_lupu_.001.sfs file on attempted usb install?

Hi Pemasu,
Quite a haul of fish you have there - sounds like you are enjoying time with your family.

Midnight Sun Pup-002 has been uploaded. It consists of bugfixes, updated Pupshutdown and PupSnap.
I included those scripts which downloads National Geocraphic pics of 2008 and 2009. Dejan555 posted the link for them in Wallpapers section. Those scripts are natgeo2008.sh and natgeo2009.sh. You can change the resolution for 2008 pics as 800, 1024, 1280 in the script.
2009 pics are high resolution only, I think

Gnomic. I want that people can download the latest Flash, thats why I wont include it. It is easy to download when you connect to the net first time. I included now also the console command dldflash for downloading it later. It is just as I want it to be done.
About adding extra plugins. Well...I think about it. Flashblock and Adblock comes to my mind which are really useful plugins. It needs that I will had to create default profile and use that Firefox and then make a pet for it, or is there any other way without creating default profile ?
Jim3630. I dont know about your problem. I will test with Midnight Sun Pup 002.
Stu90. Yes, I have really enjoyeed the beginning of my vacation. The weather has been warm and sunny, my youngest son has had fun here...
