Jim3630 if it really say this "can't detect lupu_.002.sfs" then there is the problem spelled out.

more likely it should say "can't detect lupu_002.sfs"

but test the 003 he did upload instead?
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

EDIT: I took EZ-Woof, I'm trying to build an exact replica of 5.2.5, but for x86_64 (with a 32-bit glibc just for some traditional Puppy packages) and this wonderful kernel
Iguleder. Very cool. In using EZ-Woof, don't forget the Instant Update 001.

With your approach I am guessing it would be possible to replace some of the original apps with the 64-bit versions. It sounds like you are including both the 32-bit and 64-bit libraries?

These new versions then would allow Acer D250 and other Netbook computers to run as if them 64bit while still Atom CPU and them 32 bit?

or would them fail to work at all?

nooby, don't miss the forest for the trees. Likely typo, instead of contributing advise why not some testing yourself? :)

Pemasu in the last few months has produced about 40 puppies using 3 different kernels I believe. Producing 3 new puplets and contributing to at least one, squeeze, other. Updated a handful of packages himself and contributed to updating as many if not more other programs. He also produced as many new qt programs among others. He's one of the brightest bulbs on the block and if didn't know better would say he's from the land of tulips and Phillips. He'll shine anywhere I'm sure. I don't recall him ashing for advice either. He's down on the research and development just looking short on the testing/manpower.

Frugall hdd install of Midnight Sun 003 to ext4 pfix=ram without issue. wl driver works without the pet. Thanks!

Frugall usb intall of MN 003 to several ext types, ext2, ext3, ext4 pfix=ram with Universal Installer then via manual copying files all ok without issue and the builtin wl driver works as well.

Nice to see all the memory recognized.

Jim3630. Great news. Wl module can now be in the kernel pet straight and the script in /etc/init.d takes care of wl module preparing.
Good to know that different fs installations works now.
It sounds that MN 003 behaves well.

Lithpr. Yes, it was good start for my vacation to row middle of the lake at midnight and take that pic and the upload MN with that wallpaper. Now it has been cold and rainy 3 days.

James C. You have been busy with all new Puppies. I appreciate that you have time with my puplets also.

pemasu wrote:Tman. I installed the submenu pet which should modify the /usr/share/applications. I deleted previous stuff from there and then installed the pet.
I didnt see any difference.
Pemasu,
I just got your message now; the submenu pet was supposed to change the names of the entries. I will check the pet. You do not have to delete anything for this pet (for the icewm themes, you should).
It was supposed to change the name of the items in the /usr/share/applications folder. Perhaps I sent them to the wrong folder. Or maybe typing fixmenus will do the trick. I will get back to you on this.

One more thing: I tried midnightsun 003 by manual frugal install. Everything loaded fine, but it would not detect my wireless logitech mouse and keyboard on my main computer. On my other test computer, which had a wired mouse and keyboard, everything worked fine.
I have now reverted back to version 002, which works fine in both computers.

regards,

Van

Tman. I added you wireless stuff problem to my 2.6.38 bugs list. When I have energy, I will inspect the compiling rows. Maybe I have missed some drivers.
Is it difficult to check what modules are used in 2.6.35.7 aka MNS-002 for your wireless keyboard and mouse.
lsmod should give you info.

No worries, version 002 works fine for me, although I am having trouble remastering it so it can boot to gui. You must have used a different process than the one in Lucid525.

Also I managed to take a look at the Modified-submenus pet. I tried it twice in both window managers and it worked for me. I think the name of the pet might be misleading. A better name would have been modified-menu-entries. The names of most of the apps have been changed, but some may too subtle to notice right away. Take a look at "Firewallestate Tray Applet" I think the old name was something like "Firewallstate firewallstate tray applet" I noticed I missed a few entries..ie pmount and pfind. Anyways, I'm glad you liked the themes.

Tman. I dont remaster. I build only with woof. So my builds nowadays uses much changed stuff that 525. I have adapted to the Barrys scripts and difference to the Playdayz builds is noticeable. Playdayz will use the same Barrys woof which was published about January 2011. I have used the latest or almost latest woof so that I can have the updated scripts for 3gmodem detection and all the other improvemnts also.

Good news, guys - I'm working on a build script for 2.6.39.x, with BFS and all the traditional goodies I put in my kernel builds :)

Hey that is great. Remember to add usb_storage patch which wasnt included in your kernel builder at the version I used. Usb_storage patch is essential for usb booting. It wont work otherwise. You can check the specs from Barrys kernel source storage.

Got it, thanks for informing me. I want to get the script working by tomorrow and build both x86 and x86_64 variants we can use for 5.2.6 and your wonderful puplets :)

Tomorrow I'll fix the script; I'm doing the weekly E17 build at the moment. :)

Thank you of the Seamonkey info.
Here is the straight link.
http://www.smokey01.com/pets/Seamonkey-2.2.pet

Since it is already in Smokey01 ftp repo I dont upload it under Pemasu.

I feel a little bit inclined to make one build in the future with latest Seamonkey included.

Dont ask Chromium, Google Chrome, Iron Ice Age Puppy. It is not near.

But Polarpup-002 is now uploading.....

pemasu, when you consider Seamonkey is bundled with a good Mail Client, HTML editor, Chat Client and Address Book it really is hard to beat.
