Smokey,

Some new info to consider using.

menu->desktop->desktop settings->desksetup

Make desksetup - Desksetup Templates for Desk Icons

If you have a very busy desktop this is a good way to tidy it up, however, when you select Traditional - full desktop icons, only the default icons seem to return. Any that you had manually added previously will have to be re-added.
Change this info to read:
If you have a very busy desktop this is a good way to tidy it up.

If you have added or changed anything on desktop and want to go back to that look later on, make a custom copy.
To make custom copy:
Before any other selections.
Select click this button to save your custom arrangment.
To use the custom copy:
Select custom - choose your saved profile

when you select Traditional - full desktop icons, only the default icons will return.

It does seem to be very sensitive to how you double left mouse click.
For me it needs to be a very quick double click.

Excellent help file and an easy read - many thanks for your efforts. This feature would be helpful for most breeds of puppy.http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/images ... icon14.gif

smokey01 wrote:I have released Puppy Help 101.

The attached may not be perfect but it should be of significant help to new comers.

I have not used any graphics in an effort to keep the file size down but I have used a lot of Internet links.

I guess it could be described as an interactive tutorial.

The help file installs to /usr/share/doc and it can be executed from Menu Item Documents.

I will install it right away, thx

Just wondering whether it's possible to have the download as a pdf file or other so that we can study it before we get puppy running.

Windows can't open the file because of the .gz. Just above your help file is a Installing Puppy PDF. It would be great if you could add a Beginners Help PDF at the same location. I feel like I really need it before I try and load anymore puppies.
Thanks

That's why I wrote "remove extension .gz".

That means: rename it to anything.html
Every (internet capable) operating system knows how to open a html file.

Rename the original file from .ncd to .html. The file is actually a html file. You can export it to .pdf from your browser if you wish.

Hi smokey,
I've tried renaming the file with no success. I don't export files to pdf. I guess as soon as I get a puppy running and my browser working I'll open the pet and save it as a pdf then. I still think you shouldn't put a pet file on a windows based forum.

Hi frerom,

I cannot help you how to rename a file in windows because I do not have windows.

I do not think that this forum is a windows based forum. It is a worlwide web forum based on html (or htm for windows users).

My regards

EDIT
Why don't you just install NoteCase in your operating system
