Thanks for sharing your know how.
It is so embarrassing to admit.
I don't even know what you talk about here.
A lot of people type a record command into pschedule or crontab
Sure I do remember that I've seen the word pschedule
but I had no idea that it can record sound.

Crontab that word is first time I see it or hear about it.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

Bacon Recorder at Spanish Wikka

#80 Post by vicmz »

Hi don570 :D
I'm writing the Spanish Puppy Linux Wiki. This is the page for Bacon Recorder, you can read at any time and tell if there's something you want to have changed. The attached image is meant to be used in the wiki page. I can also create the English version of the page.

You should emphasize that multiple recordings are possible,
albeit you shouldn't be recording simultaneusly.

For instance set two recording start times, different start times of course.

New version 3.0

1)Fixed small bug when clicking play button. If arecord window was open
clicking play would give wrong message

2) Aqualung was added to list of audio players

I added these instructions on first page...

Edit: Several recording events are possible simultaneously.
The user simply sets the Start time (don't forget length of recording)
and clicks the set button for the different times you want
the recording to proceed. --->
Hidden from the user the arecord application is launched each time that
the set button is clicked. Clicking on 'Stop' kills the arecord app.

It is possible to 'Quit' baconrecorder and the recording events will
still proceed.

New version 3.1

1) icon in window corner

2) audio mixer chosen differently to be more compatible

3) 5 top buttons in window are centered

I noticed that the user can't record in /home folder
such as /home/spot (for the guest user). Maybe I will
change this in future versions??

Don

I got Bacon Recorder to work for me on both
Acer D250 and Acer D255 but now on the big Desktop
which uses Realtec? I fail to get it to work on Spotify
streaming sound? Maybe I set it up wrong in some way.

I should test on other sources like Grooveshark and
local TV station to see if that works.

I need to ask you about this Capture and Digital
what does it really mean? I need to "capture" the
streaming audio from soundcard? Is that digital?
or is it analog?

do I have to provide a cable connection from
line out to line in for to be able to record the sound
of streaming audio?

I'm hardly an expert about installing cards but I would guess
that retrovol has noticed that multiple cards are present. That is
why you have multiple inputs and multiple captures. I
would set one input source to none and untick the corresponding
capture volume.

Another thing you could do --> install audacity and in the preferences
for audacity you can choose the input source. See if you can get an
input source to record anything.

The preference looks something like this.... (except this is windows)

Bacon recorder version 4.0

#88 Post by don570 »

New version 4.0 available first page

Improvements:

1) gettext version for French Spanish Russian Portuguese Italian German
(Hopefully others) The script is available on the first page for people
who know how to use the gettext method of translation. For people
who don't know this method I provide the POT file for simple translation.
Just file it in and send it to me.

2) Message screens were rewritten to make them attractive and smaller

3) A serious bug was found. The format of the output file wasn't done
correctly, leading to possilbe errors in recording mp3 in foreign
languages. Mono rather than stereo mp3 would be recorded

4) I put a clock icon in left corner of window bar

5) The output path of recording is now filled in the modern way
i.e. the path doesn't need to end with a slash (/)
Explanation: I converted from Xdialog folder selector to gtkdialog
