I've also installed WattOS 7, which looks OK although at the moment I can't access the full Ubuntu repositories to install less commonly used programs such as DeadBeef, Portabase and others (Qalculate -the Queer Calculator is a favourite of mine).

I wanted to try one of the 'rolling releases' just to see how they would perform so after trying a few of the more-popular ones over the last year with little satisfaction, I decided to try just one more 'Semplice' it isn't very well known, only a handful of users or viewers in their forum at one time and, sometimes it isn't even in the top-100 on Distrowatch.
I must say after using it for the last 3 or 4 months... 'It is a fantastic mid-size distro' (yep, still fits on a CD)
The boys at Semplice are very friendly and I will say, work their hearts out on this distro. (both 32 & 64 versions)
I get on an average of 5-10 individual updates or add-on's every day via the syntactic package manager (that's how they do it) and for certain learned that many of the 'lib's programs & some standard programs like cups - and not a version update -' that are used in puppy have been up-dated several times since I've been using it... makes one wonder on some of the puppy stuff still being used going back on several years?
Anyway, if you want a really nice mid-size distro, you will never have to replace (rolling-release) give it a try, you can find the URL at distrowatch using the search function.

I felt for testing Zorin Lite today so I made this frugal install on my HP/Compaq

Distros for my iMac
I have Crunchbang 11 and Mint 15 xfce on my iMac. The only one that works properly for my needs is Mint 15. It's the only one that allows me to record from Audio Line In..... But wait!
I just booted the new Puppy Precise 5.7.1 on my iMac and guess what? This is the first put that I have used that actually works in regards to recording from my attached radio through Audio Line In. Tomorrow, I will be getting rid of #! and Mint 15 ant installing Puppy Precise alongside Mac OS X.
Now the only thing I have to learn is JWM. I would much rather have the way Puppy Linux 5.2.8 is set up with ROX and Openbox and instead of using FBPanel, I would love to use Tint2.(fell in love with it while using Crunchbang. I guess it would be too much of a hassle to use these instead of the stock Precise 5.7.1?

Not exactly new, but I rolled my old 333 MHz laptop back to 4.12 Retro (256MB RAM, 512 MB Swap). Wow does it respond nicely under that older puppy. Now I just need to see if it can handle a newer Seamokey...
I had been running 5.25 Retro, which worked pretty well (much better than the 4.2/4.3 families). Though Firefox was way too much bloat for it.
I couldn't get 2.14 Top10 to work correctly. It would boot and run fine, but the keyboard mapping was completely goofed up (numbers in the letter section, and vice versa -- which made it impossible to make changes from the console).

Quite possibly. Although, I've not played with ClassicPup much. In my experience it's far too slow to be practical for its intended purpose.
Unless it's just meant to work on P3s and P4s like most of the other Pups do just fine already...?

Just installed the release version of Mint 15 Cinnamon, and it's working well; no problems with it so far.
Gigabyte M68MT-52P motherboard, AMD Athlon II X4 630, 5.8 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 250 GB Hitachi hard drive running Ubuntu 16.04.6, MX-19.2, Peppermint 10, PCLinuxOS 20.02, LXLE 18.04.3, Pardus 19.2, exGENT 200119, Bionic Pup 8.0 and Xenial CE 7.5 XL.
