What would life be without a wayback machine :)
I could use such for to remember old music me have forgotten.
That would be very handy. I did a frugal install of Carolina
yesterday but he FF where 17 and them are now into 22 or something?

So it is a full time job for a dev to keep up with all the latest changes.
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though

One of my machines at work has a yellow-sticky program in two different instances and in two different colors on the right monitor. Yellow sitckies are about my current project and red stickies are informational as well as a means to track ideas for later. I also use a personal Wiki @ work to track all of my procedures, tools and intranet links via a keyword search. I could not function without this

They do comment a lot on Trisquel now on DW
so it seems to be gaining popularity. What I wonder is
now when it is using free software would that mean
them does not include the Adobe Flashreader in Firefox
so one need to add that on one self?

No Adobe software, no Firefox because the Firefox extension server provides non-free software (they use abrowser which is based on Firefox with their extension server and no branding), etc.

I installed PClinuxOS 13.06 FullMonty64 to a hp desktop pc.
It is a 3.9 GB download so that took some time.
I installed it on an external usb 3.0 hard drive.
It's loaded for bear, a lot of applications, VLC,XBMC, and many more
come with it.
It's fast too.
It's pretty impressive so far.

EDIT:I installed it on my AAO netbook as well.
It ran well with the gallium driver (except xbmc was slow) but I
installed the proprietary ati driver for my hd4200 card and it's much
better now.
FullMonty64 runs fast on this netbook too.

How much RAM does it need to run?

Can it be installed to USBflash?

Does it support NTFS fully?

Does it support USB3.0?

Does it support SDXC UDMA flash memory cards?

Nooby,

I have been looking at Trisequel, which was on Linux Format cover disk 171.

It is totally free software so includes gnash rather than flash. Used in offline mode it was really impressive. I could play all the mp3, mp4, wmv and flv files I threw at it. Flv simply played by (double) clicking the file - something I cannot do with Windows out of the box - not sure about Puppy.

Being based on Ubuntu I know it should be possible to get it to boot from a frugal install - you've done it in the past - if only I remembered how!

Hello, people.

As for me, I tried Debian Squeeze LXDE Live a couple of days ago.
http://live.debian.net/cdimage/release/ ... esktop.iso

It was a real consolation :) to see how lazy the Debian Live developers had been in categorizing the menu items -- as compared to the "logic" and effort that we invest in the creation of our own Puppy menus. An example of that sloppy menu can be found at http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... ost#709758

I never understood why they need to add those "applications" at all - or actually why someone even bothered to make them. Xeyes for example is a program with 2 circles that move around following mouse poiner - so what's use of that, just wasting space and cluttering the menu. And, please don't say Puppy's menu is more logical , and what size are menu icons in Puppy, 8 pixels I think, so that can also be called lazy

It's logical to use 8x8 or 16x16, but not 64x64.

I have Zorin on a USB stick using rcrsn51 isobooter
but I get curious on what you accomplish with the code

Code:
live@live:~$ uname -r
3.8.0-23-generic
live@live:~$

what does that do for you?
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
