Hello everyone,
I'm using another distribution on my usb stick as I like it more then all the pups I've tried (everyone his own right?)
But one of the things I really liked about puppy linux was that it spared my usb stick a lot. I would like to copy that behaviour.
What I have now is my data and a no-write squashfs-compressed image both mounted on their own mount points. Then I use aufs to mount the data (loop file) read-only with the system squashfs archive (read-only) and a rw ramdisk on top.
But now comes the hard part, saving. Every time I use Rsync to copy everything from the ramdisk to the loopfile and remove the duplicates from the ramdisk's I get nfs stale locks.
Can someone explain to me how puppy handles its saving? I've looked everywhere on my Wary-usb stick and the closest I've got were the scripts in /etc/rc.d/functions... . Can someone help me out even though this is not really a puppy question and this is most likely posted in the wrong section? XD
